I’m having the same problem as everyone else. Using the trial version on a Mac, scanning a Samsung Note 3, for files I moved to an microSD card which I then reformatted, in the mistaken belief I’d copied rather than moved them to the sd card. The software hangs at 99% and keeps restarting the phone. The sd card is in the phone. I was hoping I could find them on either.

hi, I have been stuck on “downloading recovery package” with 0% downloaded for hours now. what can i do?

  3. Martin

    Dear Matt,
first thanks a lot for replying to so many messages!

I tried from 4 different computers to recover whatsapp files. At all computers it crashed at 36 %. Program either just closes or – at one PC – the error message pops up at 36 %: “application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process ID=0x182c (6188), Thread ID=0x1bb4 (7092)”

    Its a Samsung S 4 Mini Galaxy – GT-I9195I. Android: 4.4.4

    Thanks
    Martin

Hi Martin, thanks for the detailed explanation, and sorry for the inconveniences caused. this issue needs to be addressed by higher level tech support. please kindly send the log files to our technicians. while you wait for their response, you should minimize the use of your phone, avoid saving new files and data on the device, and you can search for other alternatives on the web at the same time, as I am not sure if a solution for this issue can be found anytime soon. again sorry for the inconvenience caused.

        Hi Matt
I had a galaxy note 3 that I gave to a friend. I did a factory reset. I thought that this would erase my pictures, contacts, text messages etc. Is there a possibility then that these things could be recovered using this program?

        • Matt

data recovery after factory reset is becoming more and more difficult, cause the newer Android OS are using more sophisticated techniques to protect users’ data. the above android data retrieval solution works well for recently deleted data that is being deleted by user accidentally, not those deleted by factory reset or using a professional data destroyer tool. if you perform a hard reset on Android, the above recovery solution can’t help you get back any data at all. so the short answer to your question is the chance is slim. also FYI in the future, you’d better perform a hard reset on Android to make the data even difficult to be retrieved. also other simple methods can also help you erase data on the phone completely. for example, you can reset it for another time; you can delete the private data, then save some unnecessary files to the phone, such as long movies, repeat the process several times, these activities can also overwrite those deleted private data and make them unrecoverable.

    Hii
I tried your tool for Samsing Grand2 and I got my mobile rooted but the recovery was not done with my real data ..;It revovers some images of the tool only .

Is it really supported for the samsung grand 2 ??

    • Matt

do you mean the recovery software finds and recovers some images that were not taken using your phone’s camera? this android recovery will scan your phone’s internal storage and SD card if any to find any image files. they can be taken using your phone’s camera, downloaded from websites/emails/chat apps, created by other apps on the phone, etc. that’s why it can find many more image files in addition to the camera photos.
Also you can enable the Advanced scan mode to find and retrieve more image files if the Standard mode can’t find the lost pictures you like to retrieve. due to the complexity of data recovery, not all files and data can be recovered. if the deleted data has been overwritten by new data, our recovery software can’t help get them back.

Hello I’m recovering data from my Samsung Galaxy I9105P and it’s been 6 hours since I started downloading recovery packages. Nothing happens because it is still 0%. I got the trial version. What can I do at this point?

    • Matt

are you in the ‘Android data recovery’ mode or the “Android data extraction(damaged device)” mode? can you send us some screenshots to illustrate the issue?

    Hi

I have a Samsung galaxy S5 SM-G900a with a dead screen. I tried to use your software but when I select Galaxy S5, my Device model isn’t available to select. Does this mean that this software will not support my device? AT&T is my carrier. Any information would be great.

    • Matt

if your phone model is not listed, it means the software does not support your device yet. we will add more device to the support list in future upgrades. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

I have tried this with my Sony Xperia Z3 and it is stuck on 90% and keeps restarting my phone while its stuck. It has done it 27 times so far. Please can you tell me what I can do to stop this from ruining the remaining data which I have on my phone.

    thank you

    • Matt

it seems your phone is not supported, thus it gets stuck on 90%. you can stop the process or close the data recovery software on your computer. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    Hi Matt,

Trying to recover deleted videos from an Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with Android 6.01
    Model: SM-G935A
The program was stopping at 90% every time i’ve tried, then I googled the solution and found the trick of clearing the Samsung Keyboard. Finally the program completed and it told me I had to route my device first. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to do this in order to keep my warranty. I’ve seen in a couple replies that other SGS7 models have been successful, is there anything I can do?

    • Matt

our Android phone data recovery software is currently compatible with seven Galaxy S7 models, SM-G935X, SM-G935T,SM-G935F, SM-G930S, etc. we have not tested it with SM-G935A yet. sometimes it may work with one phone but not the other even if they are the same model. many factors can cause it not to work properly. you can refer to these troubleshooting tips see if any help. if still no luck, please submit the log file to our technician and they can investigate to see if any solution. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  12. Chelsea

    Hi Matt,

I’m trying to recover deleted videos from my fiance’s Galaxy S7 Edge with Android 6.01
    Model: SM-G935A
The program was stopping at 90%, so I googled the solution to clear the Samsung Keyboard Data and the program finally said the phone had to be rooted first. But after reading your replies to others about the SGS7, it said it should be supported. I do not want to void my warranty by rooting the phone first, what can I do?

    Thank you!!

    • Matt

Samsung Note 5 is not supported yet. Presently the support list of devices is quite limited. when you have submitted your device info manually, our development team will be notified so they can know how many users have the same problems and can investigate to see if any solution for the supplied model. we are working to add more devices in future upgrades.

Hi. I have downloaded the free trial on my pc and with my phone connected have tried three times to get the data I erased by accident this morning. I thought I was cleaning up some old unwanted files but didn’t realise it woudl also delete my snotes. I’m cactus without those notes and yes I forgot to back up recently (for about a year)I downloaded your software and have tried running it four times. Each time it stops at 90% and doesn’t go any further. Is this just because its a trial? Also it seems to keep turning my phone on and off every minute or two..is that normal? What can I do? I’m too scared to run it again

    • Matt

in order to retrieve lost data from Android device, the data recovery software to try to root the device first, and the rooting may fail thus get stuck somewhere without going further.
sorry to tell that notes recovery is not currently supported. our Android recovery software can only support contacts, messages, photos, video, audio, WhatsApp chats, documents, call history, at this moment.

  17. Joe

Hi…i got the oneplus2 on Android 6.01….stuck on 90% for the whole night…sent in my log through the feedback option…did not hear back yet

    • Matt

we have not tested this data recovery with a oneplus 2 yet. it works with oneplus 1 based on our test. since you have already sent in the log files, our technician will look into the details and get back to you via email when they find a solution. Another workaround is to use a third party rooting software to root your device first, then use our recovery to scan your phone see if any help. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

      • Joe

if i root my phone…wouldn’t I lose all my data (including the deleted text message that I am trying to recover)?

        • Matt

no, rooting does not erase anything in most of the cases using a good root tool. make sure to install and use a root software on PC other than a root app on your phone so as to avoid any possible data overwriting on the phone.

  18. Josie

Hello, my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge model number SM-G935F keeps freezing when it gets to 90% analysed. Could you please help?

I have the same problem with my HTC One M7. It works fine normally but when using this program it keeps rebooting every few seconds and then loses the connection immediately when scanning for photos

      • miigaa

Hello.please help me!! I used trial version but after scan there were not my photos back up and When I made factory reset, i did back up. But i cant find my photos abd videos .how to recover files

        • Matt

if you have already backed up the phone, you do not need to use the above android phone recovery, you should try to restore your data from previous backup instead.
If you do not have any backup, you can use the above recovery program to scan your phone and restore data found during the scanning process.

  22. Steven

I have a Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910V) and the program seems to always get stuck at 90% when analyzing device…or it gives me an failed message around the same point, saying it does not currently support the device.

    • Matt

we have tested this software to be compatible with your device model which is running on Android 4.4.2. please follow this screenshot to submit the log files to our support team so they can look into this issue and provide more specific instructions.

  23. Brandon

I have a Samsung Glaxy s6. I had a draft SMS message going to recipient “456”..My phone died as I was typing in the draft SMS message. When I turned the phone back on, the draft SMS message disappeared and all notes were lost. If I purchase DrFone will I be able to recover all lost? I downloaded trial and was not able to get it back. Thanks.

    • Matt

if the free trial version can’t find the lost draft messages after it has finished scanning your phone, the full version can’t help you get them back either. the only difference between trial and full version of this recovery software is that the full version allows users to recover lost data from phone to computer, the trial version can scan the phone to find those lost data but can’t export them to computer. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  24. Bilal

I have a LG G4 and every time i try to recover files it says i need to root the phone to work, but i dont want to root the phone. any help, and or other options for me?

    • Bilal

      LG-H815
      android 6.0

    • Matt

if you want to recover data from phone’s internal storage, this software will root the phone before data recovery and remove root after recovery. if the deleted data was saved on the MicroSD card, you can uninstall the SD card from phone and use the software to scan SD only and recover data from there.

      • miigaa

I have same problem. I have Samsung s3 please help

  25. natalie

hi i have note 4 i got it off of the laptop when it was 90% not the phone wont turn on it still in recovery what can i do?? plzzzz helpppp

    • Matt

you can try to power off the phone, wait for a few minutes, then power on it again see if any luck. you can also connect the phone to PC via USB, run the recovery software, see if the “Fix My Bricked Phone” option shows up. if you can find this option, click it and follow on-screen steps to restore your phone back to normal. other than that you can send in the log files to our support team from within the recovery software so they can look into this issue and provide more specific instructions.

  26. Adam

    Hi matt,
Do you know when the Galaxy S7 will be compatible? Is there somewhere else i could try or somewhere i can check up on to see if it has become compatible?
    Cheers

    • Matt

Samsung Galaxy S7 is already supported. Some of the compatible Galaxy S7 models include, SM-G935X, SM-G935T,SM-G935F and so on. You can simply download the free trial version from above article onto your PC, then connect up your phone and run the recovery software to scan your phone see if your phone model is supported or not.

  27. darcy

i did a factory reset and then realized there were texts i wanted. i have been trying to recover ever since. i have tried your free version repeatedly. at first microsoft phone companion was also popping up. i got rid of that. i can’t get past the first screen, once in awhile it will show a glimpse like it finds my phone then it disappears. i have debugging set. if i need to pay to recover that is something i would consider but i tried other recovery tools that never found my files. i can’t even get to the point with this where it scans to tell me anything. please help.

    • Matt

what’s the specific phone model number and Android version please?

Hi my phone is a galaxy note 5. I accidentally rebooted and need to get pictures back. I downloaded the program and followed the directions. I had hope but it has stopped analyzing twice when getting to 90%. I don’t want to purchase if I don’t know if I can get them back at all. Is there anything I can do? I’m so sad to have lost these photos.

    • Matt

you can send us the logs to our support team following steps as shown in this screenshot so our technician can look into this issue and provide specific instructions accordingly. you can also use a third party root tool to gain root access on the phone before using our data recovery to retrieve lost data from it. before you get the data back, you should minimize the use of the phone to avoid data overwriting. sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    Hello,
I am trying to transfer all my Whatsapp info (chats, people photos, videos) from my Iphone 4S to my Samsung S4.
But everytime it is stuck at 99%.
I have tried plugging out, plugging back in, closing the apps etc…

I just bought the software to unlock a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and it failed because the device is unsupported. I followed the instructions on the screen to submit the model, country etc. What sort of time frame are we looking at for this to be resolved? Or would I be better of requesting a refund?

    Thanks,

    David

    • Matt

you can refer to this screenshot to submit the log files to our technician, so they can look into this issue and provide a solution if any. generally speaking you will get response from them in 2 or 3 days.
also you can find your customer ID and password from the order confirmation email through which you also receive the license code. you can also find the link in the email to access your user panel and submit ticket from there for tech support and billing support including requesting a refund. Any idea if this app works with Android 7? I’ve got the Nexus 5X from Google and so far it’s getting stuck at 90% done analyzing.

    • Chuck

Nevermind, it looks like it can’t yet be rooted by this application. Thanks though.

      • Matt

this recovery tool has a root tool in its toolkit, you can give it a try see if any luck. See this guide to root Android phone. you can also use third party root software to get the android device rooted before using above recovery software to retrieve data from it.

  35. Kristina

Hi, I found out that the samsung galaxy s6 has a security setting that erases all data if you forget your password/it doesn’t recognise your fingerprint so many times, I have now lost all of my photos from the past year as it was not backed up, i’ve tried a couple of data recovery apps like yours and they have not brought anything up, does this mean it was a hard reset and it is all unrecoverable?
    Thanks

  36. Gessica

I was using dr fone and it stopped at 94% last night I waited until today morning and it was still 94% I could do anything just took my phone out of the usb and it still shows dr fone on the screen. I cant turn it off and when I took the batery off and put it back it starts and keep showing dr fone sign. What can I do? I need to use my phone now.

    • Matt

      sorry for the inconveniences caused.

I have a Motorola XT1031 and it does not have a Sim Card. I need to recover the pictures and videos off of the phone. The phone was stolen and the guy did a factory reset on the phone.
We were able to recover the phone before anything was loaded onto the phone but after the fact that the reset had already been done. Which option will recover that data or what should I do?

    • Matt

the android device data recovery can help users recover recently deleted data that has not been overwritten by new data, and there is no guarantee data deleted in factory reset can be retrieved, if it was a hard reset on the phone, the lost data can’t be retrieved currently. You can refer to these steps to recover photos, videos from Motorola phones. Download the free trial version on to a PC or Mac, attach your phone to computer, then run the recovery tool to scan your device see if any lost files you like to retrieve can be found.

  39. Mary

I am having an issue, i just recently purchased the Android Data Recovery but when I register or Sign in with the pass code I was provided, it tells me I still need to purchase the product and the screen shows trail mode, how do I fix this?

    • Matt

Hi, I can not find my device, i can see only galaxy devices. Please help.

    • Matt

the above android phone data retrieval program works with all major Android phones and devices. do you mean the ‘Android data extraction from damaged devices’? this data recovery mode works with Samsung Galaxy phones only at this moment. We will add more supported phones and brands in the future upgrade.

    • cherry

      • Matt

Please make sure to access and run the ‘Android Lock Screen Removal’ from the main interface. After that, click the Start button. If your phone model is not supported, you will see the prompt message like “Your device model is …, data recovery can not currently be supported for your device.” See more details here.

sorry for the inconvenience caused. I do not have access to your emails with our support team. sometimes when the issue is complicate, it may be escalated to high level of support and thus takes longer to get a response. In this case, it takes longer than usual. In my opinion, you can cancel the order at this time since the software can’t help you solve the problems you encountered and our support team did not provide a solution for this yet. to do that, you can find your order confirmation email which you should have received when you place the order online, you can find your account credentials to log in your account and request for refund. You can also go to the Contact page FAQ section for more info. we appreciate your patience and sorry again for the inconvenience caused.

I have a Galaxy S5 that is broken in the sense that the screen is black. When using Dr. Fone it continued to stop when analyzing stating the Flash recovery package failed. Is there anything I can do or will the program not work for my phone?

    • Matt

first of all, you need to double check your phone model number. only when you can find the exact same phone model from the supported devices list, can you proceed to next steps. if your phone model number matches, but the error persists, you may try to submit the log files to our technician so they can look into this issue and provide more specific instructions. See the steps here.

  44. Bob

Does it work with Samsung S6 Android Version 6.0.1?

    • Matt

can you please provide the specific phone model number?

  45. Chris Y

Matt, my wife accidentally deleted her photos on her Samsung S6 Edge + (5.1.1). Using Mac, USB Debugging is good, and it gets to the Analyzing part, where it hangs at 99%. Previous attempts said it failed and asked to use 3rd party root, but now doesn’t even get that far. As per previous comments, you are asking us to send in the log, but that option does not appear. Since it’s hanging at 99%, I need to exit out of the program completely to stop it. Any thoughts?

PS: Which 3rd part root program/app do you guys recommend? So many out there, all with varying levels of risks, bad reviews, etc. Wanting to buy this program for future use, but just want to see if it works. Thank you!

    • Matt

we suggest you try its Windows version on a PC if not yet, it is more powerful than the Mac version.

    1. Matching model completed.
Device Mode Verification unsuccessfully. We can not guarantee all the models are supported, please feel free to try

I don’t know what happen i delete one file in file manager and i lost every thing on my phone now i want to recover it. my phone is not rooted and most data is stored in internal memory.

    • Matt

based on our test, it works with LG-D850 G3 which is running on Android versions 5.0.1, 4.4.2. you can try these steps see if any help:
      1. close related phone management software on your computer;
      2. close unnecessary app on the phone or restart the phone;
      3. restart the mobile phone recovery software on computer;
      4. disconnect and reconnect your phone via USB.

    Hi m mobile model is LG G3 D850 16gb.

matching model completed ( device mode verification unsuccessful.)
Analyzing device take so much time.

    says device is restarting???

    What i do please help.

  51. Parker

So I purchased this product huge waste of time ran it numerous times. The gallery it said was mine looked like internet or commercial photos I had never seen. It only pulled contacts associated to my email with no phone numbers attached just email address. I could have done that myself HUGE WASTE of MONEY and TIME

    • Matt

the photo recovery includes not only photos taken using the phone’s camera, but also image files downloaded to the phone when you browse websites, or other images downloaded via chat apps, social networks, such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook, etc. Thus you may see a lot of internet or commercial photos. the contacts recovery includes contacts from the Contacts app, emails, chat apps. If the phone numbers can’t be found during the scanning process, they might have already been erased and overwritten by new data saved on the phone.

  52. lingesh

waste of time I tried But i didn’t get my files sir.

    • Matt

how the files were lost and did you get any error when using this phone recovery software to retrieve them?

  53. Omeraziz

    Analyzing device freezed at 90%

what’s your phone model number please? You can find it from Settings >> About phone or About device.

    Hi

Tried with the s6 on software version 6.01 and got a message that i need to root my device please help. Had to factory reset as I forget my password and could not access the phone 🙁 it got stuck at 90%

    • Matt

you can refer to this guide to unlock Android phone screen. This screen lock removal process won’t hurt any data on your Android device. But not all phone models are supported.

  55. Janet

I’m trying to download the software and it keeps saying failed, why?

    • Matt

sorry for the inconvenience caused. please double check following below tips:
      1. this software comes with both Windows and Mac versions, so make sure to choose the right version according to your computer OS. For example, if you use a Windows PC, make sure to download the PC version other than Mac version;
      2. this is a desktop software other than a mobile phone app, so do not try to download on your mobile phone.
      3. sometimes the site maybe busy, so you can try another time see if any update.
please do not hesitate to let us know if any other problems.

  56. Danica

I downloaded the free software after I accidently deleted some photos of my Galaxy S6. Have tried to run a scan twice each time it stops at 90%, heats my phone and then my phone will not come back on. Any insight into why this is happening?

    • Matt

you can try to power off the phone, then removed its battery and install it back after a few minutes, after that power on the phone again see if any update. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  57. Alma

How can I root my phone (it keeps stopping at 90% )
What’s the best software to download for free to do it ?

  58. eddy

Does it support M4 aqua dual E2363

    • Matt

we have not tested the data recovery software with this phone model yet. you can download the free trial version of the above software and give it a shot by yourself. sorry for the inconvenience caused. If it failed, you can use a third party rooting software to root your Android device first. Generally speaking this phone recovery software should work with rooted devices.

      • sabrina mattine

        Please help me
my phone keeps restarting during the process and it ends up saying after the long scan that it does not find material on my device
i have a samsung galaxy s5 and i really need my photos back. that is all, and that is all i select in the filter.
Can you please guild me with assistance i am very upset by this

        thank you

        • Matt

          Hi,
How the photos were deleted from your phone? did you install any apps, take new photos or save anything on the phone after the data loss?
please try following steps see if any update:
          1. close the data recovery software on your computer and other phone management software on your computer;
          2. disconnect your phone from computer, close unnecessary apps on the phone, then reconnect the phone to computer;
          3. run the data recovery software to scan your phone again see if any update.

  59. Ismenia

I’ve tried to use the android data recovery several times and it’s not working–im assuming because the phone keeps restarting? and when i tried to use the alternate scan thing, the phone got stuck on download mode? Is there something i’m doing wrong? im trying to recovery deleted photo and video from a samsung note 4. thank you for any help.

    • Matt

the Android data recovery software has been tested to be working with several Galaxy Note 4 models, such as SM-N9100, SM-N9106W, SM-N910C, SM-N910G, just to name a few. Due to the complexity of the data recovery, it may work on one phone but not another, even if they are the same model. you can try to close unnecessary apps and software on both phone and computer, disconnect and reconnect the phone to computer via USB, restart the recovery software on computer see if any help.
If the issue persists, please send us the log files so our technician can look into this issue further and provide more specific instructions. see how to sub logs as shown in this picture.

  60. David Coy

So, I was cleaning organizing and deleting the photos in my gallery. I noticed a a file called videos, and tried to open them, it said the video could not be played. I thought that they were just taking up space as I had my videos saved on Video Downloader, and they played just fine, so I deleted all my videos in my galery. Needless to say, it deleted all my videos, sales, training, coaching, recruiting, 143 videos in all.
I have a Samung Galaxy S5 Active. The model number is SAMSUNG-SM-G870A, Android 5.0

    • Matt

When the data has been deleted, you should stop using the phone for any data saving, then download above Android data recovery software on to your computer. connect your phone to computer via USB and run the recovery software to scan your phone see if any of those deleted videos can be found. We have tested the android data recovery to be working well with SAMSUNG-SM-G870A model which is running on Android 4.4.2. you should be able to recover deleted data from the phone which has not been overwritten by new data saved on the phone. Give it a shot first, we’d like to hear your feedback after that.

  61. Alan

Hi I have a Samsung Note 4 operating Android 6.01. Trying to retrieve deleted photos, however phone has been stuck with the Android Man on the screen and the message “Downloading… Do not turn off the target” for now 30mn. Is this normal?

    • Matt

The Android phone data recovery software support various data recovery modes. For example it can scan phones directly to retrieve data, it can scan SD card to recover data, it can also recover data from phones with broken screen. Can you please specify how the data was lost on your device?

  62. Crystal

My screen is broken and completely black. My phone’s alarm was constantly going off, so I tried to turn off the phone, but accidentally did a factory reset. Now, I can’t access my data. Can Dr. Fone work on Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Note 5?

    • Matt

do you mean your phone screen goes completely black after the phone reset? how did you perform the phone reset, via the phone settings or from the Recovery mode?
currently the Android phone recovery software supports three data recovery modes: 1, recover from phone’s internal storage; 2, recover from Micro SD cards; 3, broken phone recovery. we have tested both the modes 1 & 3 to be working with some Galaxy Note 5 models. If you cant enter into the phone OS to find out the phone model number, it is hard to say whether your phone is supported or not as the Samsung Note 5 has various variants or models.

  63. Dana

I got locked out of Motorola droid razor or max or whatever it is .lol
After 10 tries of trying to remember pattern( it automatically went to factory reset…and started deleting data) I’ve never heard of this before .. normally it will lock me out for 30 minutes until next try. I couldn’t stop the erasing…flipping out to say the least !!! I forgot to back up my photos. .I need to recover them. .is it possible with dr fone? Please say yes and you’ll be my hero??? I’m trying to be hopeful
    Thanks for your time
    Mookie

    • Matt

we have not tested data recovery under such situation. you can however download the free trial version of the above android phone data recovery software on to your computer and give it a shot see if any luck. we’d like to hear your feedback after that.

  64. cayenne

hi why its stop 90% my phone is lenovo vibe x s960. i want ot recover all my photos etc.

    • Matt

the data recovery software will try to root the phone first before it can scan the phone’s internal storage for those lost data. it appears the recovery software can’t get your phone rooted, thus stop at 90%. you can send us the log files to our technician from this recovery software so they can help look into this issue and provide more specific instructions, see the steps to send us the logs as shown in this screenshot.

  65. Thijs

Installed the software and when installing it got several warnings that it contains a Trojan Horse. Using Eset Smart security. Can you please help

    • Matt

can you please kindly send us some screenshots via email? our email address can be found at the top left corner of this page.

  66. Dar

See how to send in the logs as shown in this picture. also please do not forget to describe the issue your met, or simply copy and paste above feedback to the text box when submitting the logs.

I wanted to find out if my Samsung is supported for lock screen removal, Samsung galaxy core prime sm-s820l. not seeing a list of supported phones

    • Matt

when you connect up your phone to computer via USB and open the “Remove android lock screen” tool, you will be prompted whether your phone is supported or not. Unfortunately your phone model is not supported by the current version of the Android phone screen unlock utility. A list of currently supported device: Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 4 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 5 DUOS, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 LTE-A, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5 Duos, Galaxy Tab 2 7, Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1, Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, Galaxy Tab S 8.4, Galaxy Tab2 10.1. More devices and models will be supported in future upgrades.

  68. Kelly

I am not quite sure how to recover my pictures after having to do a hard reset of my phone. the pictures got deleted but nothing else

    • Matt

when you perform a hard reset, all user data should be wiped out from your phone, and our data recovery software can’t help you with the data recovery after that.

  69. Junaid

    Hello,
I am trying to recover my contacts and more from Samsung Galaxy S3, but every time, the analyzing part stays at 90% and does not go further. What possible solutions can I try to get the program to go further?

    • Matt

      Hi,
you can find more troubleshooting tips here or send us the log files so our technician can look into the issue and provide more specific instructions, see the steps as shown in this screenshot.

  70. Joni

    Hi!

Does the data restore program work with an LG G4? (H-815)

    • Matt

yes, it should work. based on our test, it works with LG-H815 which is running on Android 6. However some specific configuration changes on the phones may also cause incompatibility issues.

  71. Kaylah

Also, she has the exact same model as I do. So I don’t think that it’s an incompatibility issue.

    • Matt

Samsung galaxy S4 has different variants or various models. please provide us the specific phone model number. You can find it from the Settings >> About phone or About device. you can follow the tips in our last reply see if you can get the phone back to normal again. As to why the recovery works with one phone not another even if they are the same phone model, some specific configuration changes on the phones may also cause the recovery software not to work properly. Here are some quick tips you may try:
      1). close the recovery software and restart it;
      2). disconnect the phone and re-connect it;
      3). close unnecessary apps on the phone and computer, especially those phone management tools;

One more thing, if you like to back up content from Android phones to computer other than recovering lost data on it, we do not recommend this tool. You can download and try this mobileGo, it is a very user friendly tool to back up data from phones to computer or restore data from backup to the phones.

  72. Kaylah

Sorry, I couldn’t find where to post a new comment so I hit reply on the last comment posted.
I bought Dr Fone yesterday after my galaxy s4 did a factory reset. I was surprised by how many images it found, however it did not find any of my hidden photos or my text messages.
Here’s my problem… I tried to use Dr Fone on my mother’s galaxy s4 to back up her data and after it started scanning, I left it for about an hour. When I checked it, it was still at 0% and the phone was restarting every 2-3 minutes. Since I disconnected the phone, it has continued to restart every 2-3 minutes. What did Dr Fone do to my mother’s phone? Is there anyway to fix this? Do you offer some sort of refund policy for f***ing up her device? Thanks.

    • Matt

      Hi,
to post a new comment, you will need to scroll down the page bottom where you can see the comment box. we have delete your original comment thread so as not to let other users get a comment reply email notification, meanwhile a new comment was created using the same name and email with the original comment.
when the recovery software gets stuck somewhere in the Analyzing or Scanning process for too long, you need to shut down the recovery software first before you disconnect the phone from USB. This is because the recovery software may trying to get access to or scanning your phone’s storage at that time, any sudden disconnection may cause errors. For now, you can go to the Application Manager on the phone, find the Dr.Fone for Android, MobileGo if any and uninstall them from there. Then power off the phone, uninstall its battery from the back of the phone and re-install it. After that go to power on the phone again see if any help.
If still no luck, please follow the steps as shown in this screenshot to send us the log files and describe the issue you met when sending in the logs. Our technician will look into the log files and provide more specific instructions after that. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  73. abd elrahman

i lost my data after factory reset and i use the app but it dost work. it ask me to root my phone ????

    • Matt

by default the recovery software has the built-in rooting tool to get android phones rooted before scanning the phone’s storage to find deleted data from there. However this tool does not work with some phone models. it seems your phone is not supported, thus you are prompted to root the phone using a third party tool. note that by rooting the phone, you can grant the recovery software the root permissions so it can scan your phone’s storage, it however does NOT mean it can find or restore those deleted data for sure.

  74. nick

i’m glad didnt buy this software…as many others, keeps on hanging at 90%

    • Matt

sorry for the inconvenience caused. The android recovery software does not work with some phone models. so we always recommend users try before they buy.

  75. Steve

Hi – I tried the trial software on my HTC M9 and rooting failed – now the phone camera is starting insanely slow and even things like waking the screen up – any idea what I need to do to fix this

    • Matt

sorry for the inconvenience caused. for the phone slow issue, please try to power off your phone, wait for a few minutes, then power on the phone again see if any help.
For the rooting failed issue, you can send us the log files so our technician can look into this issue. See the steps as shown in this screenshot.

  76. Vibhav

Hi, I am using letv le 1s running android 5.0.2. I am stuck at the identifying part. It is showing 99% connecting… from an hour. What should I do? Please help me.

    • Matt

Hi, the android recovery software currently does not support LETV LE phones unless the phone is already rooted using third party tools. We may consider to fix the issue in future upgrades. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  77. KB

I scanned my phone with the free trail version and saw the files I could recover. Now I no longer have access to the phone is there anyway I can bring that data back up? Does it store previously scanned devices anywhere?

    • Matt

You can use the free trial version to scan your phone’s storage, then find and preview the deleted files you can recover. If the free version can find the lost files you want to recover, you need to register the software before you can use it to export the deleted data from phone’s storage to your computer. No, to protect the users’ data security, the recovery software will not save previously scanned devices anywhere. If your phone is not accessible, this mobile phone recovery software can’t help you get back deleted data that was saved on it.

  78. Anthony Renzulli

Spent 50 bucks on this crap and it will not pass 90% when analyzing. Left my phone on for 12 hours still nothing. I have a Droid Turbo 5.1. Uninstalled all Antivirus. Nothing. Contact support? Nothing. Asked for a refund…Nothing.

    • Matt

sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please send us the log files from the recovery software, see the steps as shown in this screenshot. You need to describe the issue and leave a valid email when submitting the log files so our support team can get back to you. If you have not received any response within 2 business days after sending in the log files, please send us an email. the email address can be found at top left corner of the page or you can find it from the Contacts page of this site.

I have a Verizon LG 3G and accidentally deleted all of my photos. I have no SD card in my phone. Will the data recovery still work?

    • Matt

Generally speaking you can get back the deleted data that has not been overwritten by new data saved on the phone. Before you recover the deleted files, you should minimize the usage of the phone to avoid data overwriting. You can download the free trial version on to your PC or Mac, then connect up your phone to computer via USB, run the recovery software to scan your LG phone see if the deleted photos can be found or not. this data recovery can recover data from both Android phone’s internal storage and external storage if any.

        Hi
Can this work on galaxy s7 edge? I have tried the free version and it kept restarting my phone for two hours. I want to be sure before I make a purchase. Thanks.

        • Matt

can you please provide us the specific phone model number?

  80. Francisco

I have a Nexus 5 running Android 5.1.1 and it keeps getting stuck at 29%. Left it running overnight and got nothing. Is there anything I can shut down on it to make sure it runs? I’ve used this successfully on my Nexus 6 once but I don’t remember what I did to make it run seamlessly. I have a full purchased DrFone for Android running it on a Mac.

    • Matt

based on our test, it works with Nexus 5 that is running Android 5.1.1. when it gets stuck somewhere for too long, you can close the recovery software, then restart it and try again see if any luck. You can also find more troubleshooting tips here. If still no luck, please send in the log files as illustrated in this screenshot.

      Hi
Does this software work on galaxy s7 edge? I have been trying to recover my lost date but it keeps failing. Please help.

  81. SHANA

My Samsung Note 5 fell a few stories and broke. It had a protective case on. I have so much in that phone! The phone seemingly still works but the screen under glass has several cracks and the screen doesn’t function anymore. It’s all black. I got a new phone through insurance but I’m desperate to not only recover stuff from my broken phone, but also purge it after. I downloaded and paid for the software. I see every darn model except the Verizon SM-N920V. But I know the Sprint and Verizon models to be exactly the same so I chose the Sprint model. It gets through downloading recovery package, but then it says Flash Recovery Package Failed. Is my phone totally screwed or do you just specifically not support Verizon phones?

    • Matt

Generally speaking we only recommend to select a phone model that is exactly the same, otherwise it will fail. please send the log files of the software to our support team and describe the issue when sending in the log files, our technician will get back to you through email. see how you can do this as shown in this screenshot.

  82. Vanessa

Hi! I’m stuck in the “Downloading recovery package” for nearly an hour. It keep starting from 0% and would not proceed. How could I fix this problem. I’m having a Samsung note 3 phone. Thanks

    • Matt

sorry for the inconvenience caused. please send the log file and database file to our support team as shown in this picture.

      • Natalie

Hello I bought the full 49 dollar package. Trying to get deleted sms from two weeks ago. Keeps failing at flash recover package. What should I do. Please help!

        • Matt

please send the log files of the software to our support team and describe the issue when sending in the log files, see how you can do this as shown in this screenshot.

  83. Greg

Hello, I had to reset my LGG4 lost all photos. I was running your free trial on Mac. It didn’t work. one of the problems was my phone kept restarting during the process. this seemed to happen when 2 apps began an install on my phone. not sure why this was happening but the scan failed along with the alternate. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Greg

    • Matt

can you please provide the specific phone model number and android versions? From the error as described above, it seems your phone model is not supported. When this android phone recovery software failed to analyze or scan the phone, you can use a third party rooting software tool to root Android phone before using the recovery software to scan your phone and recover data from it. You can also submit the log file and database file to our support team so they may be able to provide more specific instructions, see the steps as shown in this screenshot.

  84. Karen

Hi..My Samsung Galaxy Note II screen is smashed. I have a new phone and inserted Sim but contacts and other data missing. Downloaded your Dr Fone software to retrieve data on smashed Galaxy. All ok until this message “Flash Recovery Package Failed”. The backing out of ‘download mode’ failed too. Phone now dead. Please help. Thx

    • Matt

Before you download the recovery package, you will have the choices to select Device name and Device Model. Please make sure to select the correct device model to protect your phone from being bricked, or having other failures that could be beyond remedy.
If you can find the device model number from the supported device list and the above error occurs, please submit the software log files to our technician. you can see this screenshot to submit log files. Make sure to describe the issue you met in details, leave a valid email address and check both log files and databases when submitting the log files.

  85. Clare Addison

I was locked out of my phone, and though at first I could do recover, but realized now I need to do the unlock which somehow I missed realizing there was an option for. I’ve been stuck in the downloading screen for almost an hour now, getting a little worried if I screwed up (it’s been a long day and I may have missed something) I have a g5

    • Matt

run the Android phone recovery software, click More Tools, select “Android Lock Screen Removal”, connect up your phone to computer via USB, the screen unlock tool will detect your phone. if your phone model is supported, you can proceed to download the recovery package; otherwise, you will get a message saying “data recovery can not currently be supported for your device”. the downloading of recovery package may take some time, make sure you have fast internet connection. You can refer to following step-by-step guide to unlock Android phone screen.

Using Dr. Fone – so scan a Samsung Galaxy S3 – Advanced Mode for all files… 8GB phone and 8GB SD card.
When I run this – it finds an roots the phone – then finds Contacts and Messaging file –

and then enters a phase where it says ‘Initializing SD Card scanning, it will take a long time, please wait’ and seems stuck at 17%. how long is a long time? hours?? days???

The application worked and found file – including deleted files – for the other scan methods – but this advanced on which puts the Dr Fone logo on the screen of my phone seems to be getting stuck. Any suggestions?? is this normal?

    • Matt

      sorry for the inconvenience caused.
it may take long time to perform deep scan for all files on both phone’s internal storage and SD card. You can try these tips to help speed up the scanning process see if any help.
      1. unmount the SD card from phone, insert it to a adapter or SD card reader, then connect up to computer, scan and recover data from the SD only;
      2. scan phone’s internal storage without SD card;
      3. choose one file type a time, for example, you can scan the phone or SD card for contacts at one time, then scan and recover text messages at the second time;
      4. close all other unnecessary software on computer and apps on mobile phone.

  87. Gmansi

I need help, I tried this method with my HTC M9 but it stuck at 99% during the identification. How can I solve this problem?

    • Matt

what’s your specific phone model number and Android version pls? based on our test, the current version of this phone recovery supports HTC ONE M9 PLUS with Android V5.0.2, and HTC M9U with Android 5.1. You can refer to this troubleshooting page see if any help. if no luck, you may consider rooting the phone using a third party rooting software. You can find more details from previous linked page.

    • Valentino

Hi Matt can I retrieve deleted whattup messages from one contact on my Samsung s4 from the last three months.

      • Matt

If those deleted messages have not been overwritten by new data, you should be able to get them back. You can download the free trial version of the phone recovery software on to your computer, connect up your phone via USB, then run the recovery software to scan your phone see if any luck.

  88. Carlos Mumba

i need serious help, my Huawei g7 phone was stolen and I want to recover all the documents in it, it has nice photos and videos which I cant afford to lose, please help me

    • Matt

Sorry to hear that you lost the phone.
Our Android phone data recovery can only help you get back lost or deleted data from mobile phones. Since your phone was stolen, you should double check see if any previous backup saved in a cloud hosting, your computer or any other external storage.

  89. Shyamashree Rudra

How much time does Analyzing take? I purchased the full version and am trying to restore deleted messages on my Samsung Galaxy S5. But for the last one hour, analyzing is slowly moving by 1% and my phone keeps restarting. Analyzing doesn’t stop (it keeps increasing by 1%) but the phone keeps restarting automatically every 2-3 min. Analyzing has been going on for an hour now! I tried all suggestions given by you above (unmounting SD card, disabled/enabled debugging, restarted software, disconnected/reconnected my phone, closed unnecessary apps on phone and PC) yet this problem continues! Please advice!

    • Matt

what’s your specific phone model number and android version please? from the description above, it appears you are using an incompatible phone model.

      • Shyamashree

        Samsung Galaxy S3

        • Matt

galaxy S3 has many different phone models, such as GT-I9300, GT-I9300I, GT-I9300T and so on. we have tested this android phone data rescue software with more than 10 different samsung galaxy s3 models. please follow the steps as shown in this screenshot to submit us the log files, so our technician can look into this issue further and provide more specific instructions.
note that before you get back the lost data, you should minimize the usage of the phone and avoid downloading or saving new data on it. if the deleted data has been overwritten by new data, you will not be able to get them back.

  90. Randa

Hi, I tried DR Fone’s Screen Lock Removal for my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Duos SM-N9208. Was able to download the recovery package 100%. But then “Flash Recovery Package Failed”. My phone displayed ” Custom Binary (RECOVERY) Blocked by FAP lock and got stuck at Download Mode. Holding the power button didn’t make my phone turn off, so I held the Volume Down, then the power button instead to reboot. What should I do?

Is there any limitation to this software for Android version/ Rooted or Unrooted/ USB debugging mode/ Google account, etc?

    • Matt

please send the log files to our support team from the recovery software, see this picture. please also copy the above text into the “Contents” box when you submit the log files. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

      • Randa

Ok will send this asap. Will Dr Fone be able to recover files from phones after they are either hard reset, factory reset, rooted or flashed?

  91. Jo

Can you make it work on HTC flyer????

    • Matt

what is the specific phone model number?

  92. mahendra chaturvedi

THE APPLICATION IS STUCK AT 90% FOR NEARLY AN HOUR..IS IT NORMAL? OR SHOULD I RESTART THE PROCESS

    • Matt

you can stop the scanning process and quit the recovery software, disconnect and reconnect your phone through USB, then restart the recovery software to scan the phone again see if any update.

  93. Omar

    Hi Matt,

I tried the trial version to recover some deleted photos on my S6 edge phone with Android 6.0.1 installed on it then I got this message after drfone scanned my phone:
“Root Failed, Data recovery can not currently be supported for your device. If you want to recover your data please root your device first”
Doesn’t drfone root my device by itself? I want to buy this software but I want to make sure it works first.
    Please advise me.

    • Matt

this software has the built-in root tool to automatically root the device before the data recovery, and it will remove the root from your device and put your device back to unrooted status after the data recovery. This built-in root tool however can not support all Android devices, thus you get the “root failed” error above. In such case, you need to use a third party root software to root your phone first, such as Kingo. You can do a search on google and find many alternatives. you can also find some free android root solutions here. Try to use a root software on PC or than a root app on mobile, so you can avoid the data overwriting on the phone.

      • Holly

        Hi, ><
I have encountered that same thing, but I want to know, if it fails, does that mean damages have been made to my phone, as in did it actually remove my original root?
And please tell me whether I have void my warranty or not?

        • Holly

P.S – Cause the software uses a built-in root tool, does that mean if you are just using the trail version to scan for lost files, is that already voiding the warranty?

        • Matt

The root privilege in Android system has full access to the entire operating system and can do all administrative level operations. the root user is equivalent to the Administrator user on Windows. The default state of an Android device is to have the root user hidden. you will find many apps on the Google Play store (formerly known as the Android Market) will not work unless you root your device first. the android phone recovery software will firstly root the phone to get the superuser permission, so it can scan the phone’s internal storage for deleted data. when it finished scanning the phone, it will automatically remove the root from the phone, so the phone will be back to the unrooted status again. you can find more details about what is rooting here.

  94. Shana

    hi Matt,
i have a galaxy s5 i backed up my data then factory reset my phone thinking all my data would still be there, i downloaded wondershare and have been trying to scan and retrieve my data but it is stuck on 7% for hours now. ive done everything in the faq from reinstalling the software, to unplugging, pausing, and even bugging and debugging the phone again. nothing seems to work and im vert upset becuase i lost all the pictures i had of my daughter. anything you can do to help is appreciated

    • Matt

do you mean you have a backup saved somewhere? how did you create the backup?
You can submit the log files to our support team within the software so our technician can look into this issue, see this screenshot. Make sure to attach both the log file and database file when you send in the log files.

      • candy

        Hi Matt,
does attaching the database files when i submit a report mean you get access to all the information(data, music, photos, video, etc.)that i recovered?

        • Matt

no. it contains only technical information related to the software crash or error, our technician use these info only to fix the bugs or incompatibility issues. none of your private data, like photos, videos, music, contact, message, will be collected.

  95. kaustav

I bought a new samsung a8 running android 5.1. and is still under warranty period I lost some very important data and widout checking i used dr. fone .please tell me whether i have void my warranty or not. please help

    • Matt

Generally speaking, the software will automatically remove root from your phone after the recovery. so you do not need to worry about the warranty. You will also get this notice before you use the Android phone recovery software to scan your phone.

      • Holly

Hi, I don’t know if my other post have been seen or not.
But all I really want to know is: if the scan says root failed,1. has it already trigger my original system and altered? 2.Or is my original phone setting still the same? 3.Do I still have my warranty?
        Please help, thank you!

        • Matt

the root failed means the phone recovery software can not get root access to your Android system and you still have your warranty. You can refer to the linked article from our previous response to find more details about what is rooting and why people may want to do so.

  96. Kay

I scanned my SD card for the photos I accidentally deleted. I had all 2700+ appear so I purchased the software and clicked recover. I was logged into my PC under my profile but my husband’s profile is the administrator. It wouldn’t let me choose a My Documents from my profile so I picked his. It said recovering but then it said I was denied access, choose a new location. So I plugged in my external hard drive to transfer them there. That’s when everything froze and stopped responding. I had to force stop everything. When I tried scanning my SD card again, only one image came up. Where are my 2700 previously recovered photos?!!?! Thanks! I’m freaking out.

    • Matt

after scanning the phone, you can pick up the files and click Recover button to export the found files from phone to PC. If you do not have access to the default file saving folder or path, it will error out, thus try to create a new folder on computer hard drive to save the files, you can copy the recovered files from this new folder a your external hard drive later. Make sure NOT to select the SD card to export the photos to. If you have selected the SD card as the target to save teh files by mistake, this may overwrite those deleted data. When data overwriting occurs, you will lose them forever.
can you see the Advanced scan mode selection screen? If so enable advanced scan other than standard scan see if any update.

  97. DK

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 N920p (Sprint USA). It says the download recovery package complete. Flash recovery package failed (several times). Trial Version. How do I retrieve the recovery package? My phone is locked due to the fact I cannot remember my secondary pass word. Please help

    • Matt

Have just sent you an email couple of minutes ago. please check.

      • Gabriel

        Matt,

I am also having the same issue. Could you please help?

        • Matt

please kindly send us the log files from the recovery software, see this picture.

  98. Ed

    Hi Matt,

My first post got removed. What happened? So I post it again.
I downloaded the 6.03 Android Version. Run the program to scan for deleted photos on my Samsung Galaxy S4. The program prompt to select “Standard” or “Advanced” method. I chose the Standard method as it said it will just temporary root the phone and will unroot it at the end to avoid loosing the warranty. However, the trial version stopped working after 2 hours scanning before completion. Now my phone is rooted and I lost my warranty. What should I do??

Before running the program, there is no warning that the trial version will just scan and not recover any photo. I does not provide a option to just unroot the phone after it fails. This is a big problem. Even if it does not get the job done, it should not screw up my phone.

    Please help!!!

    Regards,
    Ed

    • Matt

Hi Ed, your first post was not deleted, just in the queue to be moderated. As a protection against spam, comments are not automatically published. And due to the public holiday, there might be some delay.
We have just replied to your first post, please check.

Also when the scanning takes too long, you can try these tips:
      1) select only one file type a time before you scan the phone;
      2) if you have large capacity SD card installed and you know the data you want to retrieve is not stored on SD card, you can also uninstall the SD card and scan only your phone’s internal storage;
      3) select Standard other than Advanced scan mode.
      4) stop the scanning, restart the Android phone recovery software, disconnect and reconnect your phone and scan another time. This easy tip is really useful sometimes.

The free trial version allows users to test the software before they buy. However some features are limited.

  99. Ed

    Hi Matt,

I downloaded Dr. Fone Android Data Recovery 6.03 trial version to scan for deleted photos on my Samsung Galaxy S4. It asked me to select the Standard or Advance method for rooting. I selected the Standard as it said it will unroot it when the recovery completed. The scan started and it found some pictures but stopped before it completed. Now my phone seem to be rooted and the program stopped, does not seem to unroot my phone. The trial version will just scan but not recover and not resume the phone to the original unroot state. Now what can I do? I don’t want to lose my warranty. The trail version should prompt to warn user that after it rooted the phone, it will not unroot it unless you use buy the license!

    Regards,
    Ed

    • Matt

It does not necessarily mean your phone is in the rooted status for now. You can refer to this link about how to unroot Android phones here. Note that if you run the root/unroot software on your computer, and connect up your phone, this software will check the root status of your phone, if it shows unroot, you do not need to follow the steps as specified in previous guide to remove root from it.

  100. Mike

I keep trying to recover and at 90% it keeps being stuck on… what do i need to do to fix this?

I have a 1st Gen Moto X, is my phone even compatible?

    Please help!!

    Thanks!
    Mike

    • Matt

can you please provide us the specific mobile phone model number and Android version?
you can try to root the phone first using a third party android rooting software. check out this link for more troubleshooting tips. you can also send us the log files so our support team can look into this issue and may provide more specific instructions.

  101. latsim

I’ve tried the Standard free trial and I can only see thumbnails for some of the photos. Does this mean they aren’t recoverable or I should re-run with Advanced mode or only recoverable with paid version?

    • Matt

If you see the thumbs of the photos, it means you can recover them when you register the software. For those photos not found using the trial version, you can switch to advanced mode and scan again. Only those photos found in the scanning process can be recovered. The only difference between the free trial and paid version is that the trial version allows you to scan the phone and preview data, the full version however allows you to actually extract those found data in the scanning process from phone to computer.

      • Sage

The trial version is misleading. It took 10 hours to complete my scan on my phone and now it won’t let me recover my videos unless I purchase. What good is the free trial if you can’t even recover the one item you wanted to recover.

        • Matt

          sorry for the inconvenience caused.
The free trial version can help users find and preview the deleted data, such as contacts, messages, photos, call logs, whatsapp messages. You can preview these data to make sure it works for you before you buy. you can also capture screen to save these found data, like contacts, messages, call logs whatsapp data and son even when you use the free trial version. For the videos however, the free trial version can’t help users to preview or recover any of the found videos. We will forward your feedback and suggestion to our development team. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  102. Bree

I have Samsung S7 running android versin 6.0.1 and I have the version 5.6.1 of the software. I can get through everything as long as I don’t touch my phone, but then when it hits about 90% and the phone restarts then it fails. Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong or how to fix it? I just want to get back my text messages that were backed up onto my Samsung account by a phone company staff member and then a factory reset was done, the backup seems to exist, but there is an error and connection problem when trying to restore the backup. I need to get my messages back. I’ve selected only messages to find the files of to make things easier/quicker.

    • Matt

what’s the specify phone model number please? was the phone rooted before?

  103. damian

I did a free trial and all pictures were there, when i click the recovery the new file where you save the pictures don’t appear and it say’s that i have to register. help

    • Matt

The free trial version allows users to scan phone and preview found files. However to extract the found files and data from phone to computer, you will need to buy the full version.

  104. K

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge model number SM-G925V. It decided to factory reset itself while I was at work yesterday and I lost all my photos that had not backed up due to lack of storage space. I downloaded to trial version of this software and my phone keeps restarting, probably 5 times since it started the “Analyzing device” phase of its program. Is this normal? Because every time it restarts my phone the default setting for the USB connection is “connected for charging” not “connected as a media device” which means I have to constantly change it. And I feel like when I change it to the setting it needs to be in it decides to restart the phone again!

    • Matt

Hi, we have not tested this phone model as mentioned above. you can try to root the phone using a third party Android rooting software first, then use the above Android phone data recovery software to scan your phone see if any luck. sorry for the inconvenience.

  105. vish

    hi
i tried to recover the pics with help of dr. fone and now neither pics got recovered and not even my phne is switching on back showing recovery booting from last 6 hrs plz help ASAP i need my phne switch on back plzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi, please refer to this screenshot to send us the data recovery software log files. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  106. DO

I left a message but it didn’t go through. I purchased the software and it is not working at all. I have tried scanning my android over 10 times and many hours and it gets hung up at 90% each time. This is extremely frustrating! I tried everything mentioned in the previous advice above and still have the issue. I tried just scanning contacts…same problem. Tried just scanning documents….4 hrs later still at 90%!!! What is going on? Please provide advise or I need a refund.

    • Matt

      Hi,
sorry for the late response. You can send us emails for faster response.
Please refer to this screenshot to submit us the log files and specify your specific phone model, android version and leave us a valid email, so our technician can look into this issue and provide more specific instructions.

  107. DO

Like others I purchased Dr Fone and it never gets past 90% and I’ve left it scanning for hours!!!!!!!!!!!
What is the deal? How can I get this to work? I made it search just missing contacts and it still gets hung up at 90%.
I’ve stopped it and restarted it and tried everything mentioned that other people suggest.
Very frustrated with this software after paying for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  108. farhan

    Good evenini sir
I have samsung tizen z1 phone and i lost my data due to factory reset.I want backup device data.plz help how to get backup.

    • Matt

you can download the trial version of the above data recovery software on to your PC or Mac computer, connect up your phone to computer via USB, then run the recovery software to scan your phone see if any lost data can be found.

  109. Reeve

My Dr. Fone gets stuck at 99% when ‘analyzing’… what gives?

    • Matt

If it gets stuck and hangs for too long, you can firstly try to stop the scanning, restart the android recovery software, disconnect and reconnect your phone and give it another shot see if any update. You can find more tips here.

  110. Gaffur

    Hi

I am using free trial.when i try to get the wat’sapp history it stops at 62% not moving forward tried many times. It is working for Messages and Gallery but in gallery also only few pics i am able to see. I am using the Redmi 1s

    • Matt

generally speaking, if it can finish scanning Messages and Gallery, it should be able to scan WhatsApp chat history as well. Have you tried to close and restart the recovery software, disconnect and reconnect your mobile phone?
You can find more troubleshooting tips here. If the same problem persists, please send us a screenshot to illustrate the issue through email.

Note that the Android recovery software can only help you retrieve those found data in the scanning process. If you are using the free version and it can’t find those pictures or other data you want to recover, do not purchase the full version.

  111. steph

    Hi,
I’m recovering my lost photos from the gallery in S5 using Wondershare Dr.Fone. However, this is taking time and I need to shutdown the laptop to head home. If I stop now and then start later, will the recovery process resume from where it stopped last?
    Thanks

    • Matt

sorry. currently it can’t save the recovery process. If you have closed the software, you will have to start over again from the first beginning.

  112. MSK

Thanks Matt, but couldn’t get my 8 months old chats…

you can click the stop button to stop the scanning process if it takes too long. Can you please provide us the specific phone model number? Also is your phone rooted using a third party rooting software?

  116. bert ladd

    can not open

    • Matt

do you mean the Android recovery software can not been launched on your computer? If you are using it on a Windows PC, you can re-download the latest version from above article. We have just updated the Android recovery for Windows.

  117. Sid

    hi,

after scanning process, I am getting error that downloading recovery package failed. re-try didn’t help either. how can I fix this.

Please submit the log files to our support team within the android recovery software, see this screenshot.

  118. Annemarie

HELLO. I successfully recovered a number of deleted items using Dr Fone for Android that were on my Sony Erriccson, but when i try it on my newish Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, it keeps stopping with the message “Currently data recovery from your device can not be supported. If you still want to recover your data, please root your device first.” The device keeps restarting. It stops at 4% when “Trying the alternative…”. I have re-tried it more than a dozen times since yesterday… I just don’t know what to do! Please Help Me! Thank you

    • Matt

This error means your phone model is not currently supported by this Android data recovery software. The workaround is to root your phone using third party rooting software first. After that try to use the recovery software to scan your phone and recover data from it. The recovery software works better with rooted phones. You can find some rooting software here. We recommend you use a desktop root software and root your phone from computer, so as to minimize the data overwriting on the phone. If you install root apps on the phone, this may overwrite those deleted data. When data overwriting occur, they become unrecoverable.

  119. Jessy Paul

Hi Matt, my husband passed away recently and i was trying to retrieve pictures from his phine that were accidentally deleted by his colleagues while checking for some files. However this software analysed the data and nothing was retrieved. So i used the alternative method and it did a root something and downloaded (it said it was but nit sure where and wht). Now the phone won’t start… all applications say that it stopped working. What do i do?? The phone is an S5.

    • Matt

      Hi Jessy,
      Sorry to hear that.
You can disconnect your phone from computer, then try to power off the phone and power it on again see if any luck. If still no luck, please send us the log files to our technician, so they can look into this issue and provide more specific instructions, see this screenshot.

  120. Sergio

My computer died in the middle of my phone being in recovery mode and now my phone is stuck ive turned it on and off but nothing is working i tried connecting it to the usb again like it says but it doesn’s “detect my device”

    • Matt

You can power off your phone, then boot into the Recovery mode by using the hardware keys, after that you should see options to “reboot system”, “reset phone” and so on. You can try to reboot the system from there see if any help. Note that if you reset the phone from the Recovery mode, our mobile phone data recovery will Not be able to help you get those deleted data back. So do it with caution. Also not every device has the same method to enter the Recovery mode.

  121. evan

this straight up just doesnt work on the Note 5 without root

    • Matt

The current version of this android recovery software does not work well with Note 5. We will improve it in future upgrade. For now, if the data recovery software can’t root your Note 5, you can use a third party software to root it first, after that you should be able to recover data from it using this Android phone data recovery.

      • evan lightner

thanks, i appreciate the prompt response. Now I have another issue. I’ve found out how to root the phone via third party now. Which Im going to do prior to running the recovery app on it>> but here’s the problem>>

How can I recover any deleted photos if the phone was force-restarted via the device analysis process when i ran the recovery app on it originally? Or is that not considered a real restart that would wipe the data permanently since also obviously that would be counter productive that a recovery app would force wipe a phone that its attempting to recover deletions from?

In the meantime I will not restart it nor run it too much until i hear back from you in hopes that I still have a chance. I at least want to give it a shot…

        Looking forward to your response!

        • Matt

The restart of your mobile phone during the device analysis process will not wipe those deleted data. You can also restart or power off the phone. Before you get back those deleted data, you should try to minimize the usage of the phone, such as taking photos, recording videos, downloading apps, browsing the web, checking emails. Basically any new data saved on the phone may overwrite those deleted data.
As to the Android rooting, you may consider to root the phone from a computer other than downloading root apps on to your phone directly. As installing new apps on the phone may also overwrite those deleted data. This recovery software can only find and recover those deleted data that has not been overwritten by new data. Generally speaking the chance to recover newly deleted data would be higher than recovering those old data.

          • evan lightner

Thanks so much again for the prompt response matt. So believe it or not, I actually ended up retrieving the deleted photos from a third party app right from the play store that worked without root! (As a new feature i guess, as i heard about it mainly as strictly a root app). So i ended up not having to do a root or this Android recovery app afterall. Now with my photos back i realize this is more a lesson in backing up data as we go so this never happens again, as well as an interesting primer in data recovery, more than it is about my specific pictures per say.

One remaining question though. The quality of the pictures varies and are still decent enough at least for casual viewing but nowhere near the insane megapixels quality of the original note 5 camera pics. I take it this quality compromise is pretty much standard across alll the recovery options? And also is related to how long ago/how much data has been written since? Just curious.

            Thanks matt!

          • Matt

            Hi Evan,
just sent you an email, let’s discuss from there.

          • sid

            hi,

could you please share how did you root note 5?

            thanks

  122. Marcie

Help. I tried this last night. It seemed like it was working but just at the very end something happened and it disconnected my phone? This morning I started over but now it has been stuck at 7% for over an hour and the pictures it was retrieving the last time are not being retrieved. What do I do? Do I wait? Do I start over? HELP!!!

    • Matt

What’s the specific phone model number and Android version please?

You can start over if it stuck at somewhere for long. Also you can refer to this troubleshooting page see if any help. It may work at one time not another. We have been working hard to improve its performance. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  123. Grace

Sorry i didn’t include alh this in one email: background last night my phone started blinking weird, I got a message on the screen saying my phone was corrupt or something to that effect l and it only gave me option of resetting factory settings, so I did. Now I am missing all my photos since last july (i checked google etc) and my most current contacts, contacts groups, voice files, videos and I really need them. Weird that Google has some of my older stuff and my older contacts are on phone but not from the last 8 months

    • Matt

You can download the free trial version of the Android data recovery software on to your computer from above and use it to scan your phone see if any luck.

  124. Grace

BTW my model # is sch-1535 version 4.4.2

  125. Grace

I downloaded the trial to my imac, and when i try to install it it says “installation failed. Please run the program as an administrator” HELP!!!!

    • Matt

what’s your Mac OS X version please?
try to right click on the downloaded dmg file on your Mac, then choose ‘Get Info’ and tell us the file size of the app. Alternatively you can try to download the recovery software on to your computer again see if any help.
If you are using the Mac computer as a guest users, try to log out and log in again as the admin account.

  128. Rajesh

    • Matt

Do you want to recover chats from FB Messenger app on Samsung phone?

  130. Mayveen

I used your software to try to recover some deleted pictures. However something went wrong and now my phone is not working. When I switch the phone on, it gives me the message that ‘Unfortunately such and such application has stopped’

I tried to use your option ‘fix my bricked phone’. The ‘last data recovery’ dates to 10 Feb 2016 at 11:37. However after the ‘downloading recovery package’ was completed, I had the message ‘Recovery on Galaxy S4 failed’.

I desperately need your help to restore my phone as I have a lot of data on the phone itself. How do i do to get the phone back to how it was before I used your software ???

    PLEASE TREAT AS URGENT

    Awaiting your reply and instructions

Will this work on a Samsung note 5?
I haven’t factory reset my phone yet… do I need to do that so that it work?

    Thanks!

    • Matt

No need. Do not reset the phone unless you have a reason to do that. When you reset the phone, you will lose all personal files on the phone and the chance to get them back is slim.
How did you lose the data on the phone? Do you get any error when using this software to recover them?

  132. mary willis

this program uploads my lost pictures, but at the end will not allow me to us ethe buy option, not the enter code option….I was never offered a code…where do I get it?????? this is maddening!

    • Matt

You can choose either the Windows or Mac version from above article, then click the ‘buy now’ button to buy the full version of this phone recovery software. After that you will receive the license code through email shortly. You can then use the code to register the software and thus get the full version.

  133. Kimberly

Is the software compatible with Mac OS El Capitan?

    • Matt

we have not tested it with this Mac OS X version yet. you can give the free trial version a shot. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  134. Holly

Ithe first time it went through and got stuck at 90% for a very long time on the analyzing part. The second time it says that current data recovery from your device can not be supported (but my phone IS on your supported list for the droid turbo Motorola xt1254.) If you still want to recover your data, please root your device first. Please help why is this not working?? I Need those text logs back. I accidentally factory reset my phone!! Thank you

    • Matt

It just depends when it comes to the question of “support of not” as many reasons on the specific phone and computer can cause it not to work properly. Based on our test and customers’ feedback, most analyzing errors occur in the rooting process. In order to get access to the system to recover more data, the software will try to root the phone temporarily. For more details about the issue, you can submit the software log files to our technician within the recovery software so they can look into the issue.

  135. Lauren

Even if it is not broken?

  136. James

    Hey Matt

I have a HTC Desire 610 and It’s stuck at 99% on analyzing. Can you offer any help on the matter?.

    • Matt

We have not tested the phone recovery with this HTC phone model you have. You can refer to this troubleshooting page see if any help. If still no luck, you may consider to root the phone using a third party software first. With the root access on the phone, the Android recovery data software will be able to access the phone’s internal storage and recover more lost data.

  137. Magdalene

Hi I have a Sony Xperia how that was accidentally master reset please help me recover my pictures on there and it also deleted my sd how can i get my pictures back?

    • Joe

I am afraid you can’t get back those data deleted from the phone if you performed a master reset.

  138. lauren

Hello, i had to factory reset my s5 without backup. i really would like to recover the photos and videos mainly. How do i go about this? Thanks

    • Matt

we highly recommend you to do the backup before reset. as there is no guarantee you can recover deleted photos and videos after reset.
If you can’t enter the mobile system to do the backup, or you have hardware issue, you can refer to this guide to recover data from broken Android phone see whether your phone model is supported or not.

  139. Krishna Shukla

Hey I am trying to recover files from my lenovo Vibe Pm1, but the software is stuck at USB debugging, though having followed process for more than 50 times.

    • Matt

what’s your specific phone model number and Android version please?
Did you get any error in the recovery software?
Go to enable USB debugging on your phone first, then run the android recovery software on computer, and connect the phone to computer via USB, you should then proceed to the analyzing device screen.

  140. Krishna Shukla

    hi what is the keycode?

    • Matt

the free trial version can help you scan mobile phone and preview the lost data. but if you like to restore the deleted files, you need to buy a license, then register the software to get full version.

  141. joyce

I recovered all my files, now my phone is stuck on “Dr. Fone” blue screen! I cannot factory reset or anything! Please help! I couldn’t find what to do after phone is recovered. Thanks

My screen on my phone is broken so I cannot authorize, I tried doing the black screen thing, and you have to hold the power, volume down, and home button, but it just keeps saying retry
In a tiny little corner of the phone I can see warning! But I don’t know what the rest says. The telus store did the factory reset because they said that it might bring my screen back, I didn’t know that I would lose my pics…please help these are irreplaceable to me!!

    • Matt

what’s your specific phone model number please? Can you take a picture of your phone screen and send us via email to illustrate the issue?

  143. Stella

    Hi

This is my second comment and if it is not replied I will flag it to all my Facebook friends, email the actual site and spread the word about my problem. I will write reviews on Windows and Google App Store. I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 mini and all I wanted to was get back pictures I accidentally deleted so I got the app. I followed the instruction however it kept failing (over three hours) so I wanted to cancel and stop the process. Not my phone is frozen at the restarting process. How can I fix this?

    • Matt

      Hi,
You can close the data recovery software on your computer, then disconnect your phone from USB, try to power off the phone if you can. If no luck, try to remove the battery, then re-install it and boot the phone see if any help.
If still no luck, please follow this screenshot to submit us the log files and let us know your email address used when submitting us the log files.
      Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  144. Stella

    Hi,

All I wanted to do was to see if I can recover my pictures, now I can’t even turn on my phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 and it was working fine but then on the computer it kept failing (over 3 hours of trying) so I tried to cancel it and now my phone is in never ending reboot. Is my
    Phone forever broken now?

  145. Angela

Hi, I couldn’t recover back my SMS messages using this. Is there any other ways? Thanks!

    • Matt

Please specify the trouble you met when using the above program. can you use the software to scan your phone?

      • Angela

Yup I could. But I could only recover images and contacts… Most important documents are the SMS though.. Is there any other ways to recover the SMS? Thanks!

        • Matt

it seems your SMS has been overwritten by other data. you can try to scan the phone’s storage again see if any update. to do that, you can restart the recovery software on computer, disconnect and reconnect your phone, then scan the phone.
Have you saved any backup of SMS on an external storage, like SD card, computer?

  146. Sonia

i have deleted my whatsapp messages like 1 month ago.. i want to restore it but the software isnt helping.. i m using sony xperia z ultra.. please help

    • Matt

Did you get any error or something while using the software?
We have tested this software to be working with several Xperia Z models like C6602, C6603, L36h that is running on Android 4.4.4, 4.1.2, 4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4.4, 5.0.2.

  147. Jay

    Good Morning,
My phone was inadvertently reset to Factory Default Settings. I have tired to download the trial version to see how much data would be recovered if I were to purchase the full version and run it. It gets to 4% of scanning my phone and then the programs restarts my phone and the program says it cannot communicate with the phone. I keep the phone during the process and since it is a factory reset, there are virtually no unnecessary apps running.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 5.0.1. The phone is an SCH-I545, is there any hope of getting back what was erased yesterday?

Thank you and happy Holidays, Jay

    • Matt

      Hello Jay,
The mobile phone data recovery has been tested to be working with Samsung Galaxy S4 SCH-I545 which is running on Android 4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4.2, 4.4.4. We have not test it with Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 5.0.1 though. Please try to to restart the mobile phone recovery on computer, disconnect and reconnect your phone via USB, see if any update. If the problem persist, you may consider to root the phone using third party rooting software on computer, then use out data recovery to scan your phone again. Other than that, you can also submit the recovery software log files to us, so our technician can analyze the log files see if any workaround. You can see this screenshot to send us the log files from the recovery software.

      Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

      Happy holidays,
      Matt

  148. Zack

Hello. I can’t seem to get my Lg Transpyre passed step 2. After I enable USB Debugging on my phone, and click “Opened? Next…”
I goes to the next screen, but the bar is already at 100 percent, and then it just sends me back to the previous screen. Is there anyway I can get passed this?

    • Matt

      You can try:
      1. close unnecessary apps on both the phone and computer;
      2. restart the data recovery software on computer;
      3. disconnect and reconnect your phone via USB;
      4. keep the phone awake during the analyzing process when the data recovery is trying to scan your phone;
You can also find more troubleshooting tips here.
Can you please provide us the specific model number and Android version?

  149. Moshe

          • Matt

sorry for the inconvenience caused. For now, you can try to root the phone using a third party rooting software. Note that this may void your warranty. You can also submit the log files to our technician, see if they can read the app log files and provide more specific instructions, see this pic to submit data recovery log file.

Been waiting!!! is this tested yet on Note 4 Model SAMSUNG-SM-N910A Version 5.0.1 I will not root my phone I’ve purchased the software few monts ago still not recovering anything????

          • Matt

Hi Alex, we have just sent you an email, please check.

  152. Kristin

My husband updated his rooted Nexus 6 yesterday and somehow it deleted everything (photos, videos, apps, etc). The first time we ran the scan, it never made it beyond 78%. We deleted, reinstalled program, and restarted computer. Now, it won’t go beyond 18%. Please help.

    • Matt

Can you please make sure whether it get stuck in the analyzing or scanning process? Prior to scan the phone, it has to analyze the phone. Also please check if the status of the phone is still rooted after the update? If it is still rooted, the Android phone data recovery should be able to scan your phone.

      • Kristin

It is happening during the scanning process. Yes, the phone is still rooted.

        • Matt

Since Nexus 6 has very large capacity either 32GB or 64GB, instead of searching for all supported data types at one time, you can try to narrow down the file types selection to just one or two. For example, you can try to enable contacts while disabling all other data types, such as messages, photos, music, video,…., then scan the phone see if any update.
If the same problem persists, try to restart the phone recovery software, disconnect and reconnect your phone through USB see if any help.

  153. Jordan Martin

how do i recover data if my screen is broken?the phone turns on and the computer recognizes the phone..

    • Matt

      You can try these methods:
      1. download the Android phone data recovery software above, use it to scan your phone see if any help. This solution requires you to have the USB debugging already enabled before your phone screen is broken.
      2. check out this guide to recover data from broken Android phone. This solution currently work with Samsung galaxy phones only and not all Samsung models are supported. You can find out what phone model is supported within the data recovery software. Also this method requires you to use some hardware keys of the phone, so if your hardware keys of the handset are all broken, it will not work.
      3. Last, you can fix the broken screen in a phone repair shop.

  154. Price

I am trying to run the Wondershare Dr. Fone on my Galaxy S5. I am in free preview mode. Right now, it is just searching with 0% at the top. (I am searching for deleted videos (which were deleted by accident on the phone) The remaining time is calculating. Is this normal?

    • Matt

you can try below tips see if any help:
      1. disconnect and reconnect your phone through USB;
      2. restart the recovery software on your computer;
      3. close unnecessary apps and software on your phone and computer;
      4. run the phone recovery software on another PC/Mac if possible.

    • Matt

do you mean the phone can’t find any Wi-fi networks from Settings >> Wi-fi? or you can find Wi-fi networks there but can’t connect to any of them?

  157. SRIRAM.L

Hi, i have flashed my mobile and lost my photos. Can i recover that again . My mobile model is Karbonn titanium X.
    plz give me a suggestion.

    • Matt

The phone data recovery works with Karbonn Titanium. Since you have flushed the phone, the chance to get the data back is slim. but you can at least download the free trial version on to your computer and use it to scan your phone see if any date can be found.

  158. Ashli

i have been trying to use this for two days. I am on a laptop with windows software. I have a Galaxy Mega2 (Samsung SM-G750A) Everytime i use this program it reaches about 20% and my phone restarts and the program disconnects.

    • Matt

Based on our in-house test, this mobile phone recovery software works with Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 model SM-G750H, SM-G7508Q. You can refer to this troubleshooting page see if any help.

I hv lost my recent phts to recover those files I hv installed ur android data recovery bt am getting device root unsuccessful wat CNI do 4 tat?am using lenovo k3 note. Is it possible to recover my data?

    • Matt

We have not tested this phone model yet. Based on some users’ feedback, the current version of this phone recovery does not work well with Lenovo K3. We will improve its performance in future upgrade. For now you can try: 1) root the phone using third party software before using our data recovery to recover data from it. make sure to use a rooting software on computer other than a rooting app on the phone; 2) if you have SD card installed on the phone, you can scan and recover data from the SD card; 3) you can find more troubleshooting tips here.

I’m so sad my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge did a factory reset on its own while trying to activate it and I have lost everything is there anything I can do. I’ve tried Dr Fone but nothing is working. Is there anything else I can do or can be done to retrieve anything. Please help

    • Matt

Sorry to hear that you lost data on the Galaxy S6. This is a new phone model. The current version of above mobile phone recovery software does not work well with this phone model. We will improve its performance in future upgrade. sorry for the inconvenience caused.

I am using win 8.1 & tried win 7 on another machine too. each time i scan it ether hangs at 22% (left overnight) and tried again on 2 different machines today and each time it hangs on 16%.
The phone is in debugging mode.

Please could you advise why this is happening? I am using the trial version.
Somehow my phone has deleted some pics (not all) no idea how or when? some these pics my babies pics and holiday pics which aren’t backed up

    your help is much appreciated

    • Matt

We have tested the Android data recovery to be working well with sm-n910f on various Android versions like 4.4.2, 4.4.4, 5.0.1. However there are many factors can prevent it from working properly, like firmware version, hardware, OEM patching, compilation settings, third-party software or apps, etc. you can refer to this troubleshooting page see if any help, or submit the log files to us so our technician can look into the issue further.

    • Matt

      Hi Bhagz,

    Hi Matt

I am on vacation and rather than press “share” I pressed “delete” and deleted about 20 pictures from a once in a lifetime excursion to an island in the bahamas…I searched around online and found reviews for this recovery program so I paid for the full version of the recovery program but like others started above, mine also stated the verification was unsuccessful. I have a Samsung Galaxy s6, version 5.1.1. And model number SM-G920V

Please help me figure out how to retrieve these photos

    Thank you
    Lindsay

    • Matt

      Hi Lindsay,
the current version of this data recovery software does not work well with Galaxy s6 models. We will improve its performance in future upgrade and you will be able to upgrade for free in the future.
For now, a workaround is to root your phone using third party tools before using our recovery software to scan your phone and recover data from it. Make sure to use a rooting software on PC or Mac, then connect up your phone to get the device rooted. Do not use a rooting app on your phone to get the device rooted. As you need to avoid data overwriting as possible as you can. When data was deleted, they can be overwritten by any new data saved on to the phone.

  167. ruth

should I root my phone manually as with the Samsung s6..?

    • Matt

You can try to root the phone manually, then the above mobile phone data recovery can proceed to scan your phone. However this does not mean you will be able to recover the deleted data 100%. If the deleted photos have been overwritten by new data on the phone, you can’t get them back.

  168. ruth

    hi Matt

thank you for this info. I am desperately trying to recover photo’s I deleted of my little boy. I have followed all instructions and downloaded the trial version, however, when scanning my device, Dr Fone says that “device model verification unsuccessful. cannot guarantee all models are supported, and then “analysing device failed. trying alternatives” (this is after the program restarts my device). Dr Fone then goes back to step 2. Identifying my device. I have a Samsung A5 with Andriod version 5.0.2.

is there no hope?!?!? please help!!

  169. sam

    hi
my son done factory reset on s6. particulars of my phone are
    model no. SM G9201
    android version 5.1.1
    Buildno…. LMY47XG9201DVU2COGA

What i have understood from above discussion that without rooting this app wont work. if i root mydoes this recovery software will work … what will be the chances of success

    thanks

    • Matt

      Hi,
sorry to say that the current version of Android data recovery solution does not work well with Samsung Galaxy S6 phones that are not rooted. The data recovery software has the built-in temporary rooting tool to get your Android device rooted before data recovery and it will remove root from the phone after recovery. This process does not work well with Samsung Galaxy S6 phone models as of now. We will improve its performance in the future. You can try your luck or root the phone using third party software before using our data recovery software to scan the phone and recover deleted data from it.

  170. Steven

Hi, I have a problem. Currently my data recovery from my phone cannot be supported. Please advise how I should go about to retrieve back my data.

    Hello ,

    I have got a

Phone Model : Huawei P8 Lite
    Model:
    Android Version

At the matching model level , message is ” Device Mode Unsuccessfully. And then it goes on upto 74 % and gives me a messag that data recovery is not possible and to root device first.
Is it because I have been working with the free version. I will not mind paying or contributing to R&D if it might make me recover my precious deleted documents.

    • Matt

No, both the free and paid versions will allow you to scan your phone. The only difference between them is the lack of recovery capability with the free trial version.
Huawei P8 Lite is a new model this year, we have not tested the Android recovery software with this phone model yet. you can try to restart the mobile phone recovery on your computer, disconnect and reconnect your phone from USB, then give it another try see if any help.
If still no luck, you may need to root the phone using a third party rooting software first. You can find more data recovery tips for Android phones here.

I have a Samsung S6 Edge. I accidentally deleted Camera folder when I connected the phone to the PC. I’ve purchased a licensed copy to recover the photos. It is completing detecting the phone, but not completing the scanning more than 65%. I tried several times.

Already registered the complaint, but no solution (Ticket No. 1971735).

    Kindly help.

    • Matt

      Hi,
You can follow below tips see if any help.
      1. can you please capture the screen and send us through email to illustrate the issue?
      2. you can stop the scanning any time to recover those already found data in the scanning process.
      3. prior to scan you galaxy S6 edge, you have the option to select file types, make sure to select only Photos, but not any others like contacts, messages, etc. this will make the scanning much faster.
      4. if your photos are saved in the phone’s internal storage only and you have an external SD card, you can uninstall SD card from the phone before the scanning. this will also speed up the scanning.
      5. as to the ticket, you may have to wait for another three or four days, because the ticket support from support team will only be available after their national holiday until Oct.7, 2015 (GMT+8).

  173. Raj

Hello Matt, My Dad is using Lenovo S850 which is running on Android 4.4.2. In an attempt to fix a problem he asked, I did Factory reset on his phone without knowing the fact that it the option would delete all Gallery contents. I feel bad of my action. He needs all his photos and videos back that are deleted. I found Dr.Fone for android software for Windows on the internet and I went thru all the instructions during installation and trying to scan his phone via USB connection enabled with the software’s Free Trial version. But all my tries have failed with a prompt after scan saying “Scan is incomplete. Please try replug your phone and rescan”. In spite of my several attempts of replugging and rescanning I keep hitting the same message from Dr.Fone software. Please help me in restoring his phone’s Gallery contents. or Will I be able to restore using Dr.Fone? Request your support. Thanks,Raj

    • Matt

      Hello Raj,
we have tested to recover data from several Lenovo S850 variants, like S850c, S850v, S850w, on various Android versions including 4.4.2, 4.4.3, 4.4.5. it seems to be working well with these phone models.
in this case, you can uninstall SD card on the phone if any. it is because when you perform a factory reset, it should not delete those photos saved on the external storage. although the data recovery for Android phone can scan and recover data from both phone’s internal and external storage, by scanning and recovering data from your phone, you can save a lot of time in the scanning process.
Also prior to scan your phone, you have the chance to select file types, make sure to only enable photo recovery only, and disable any other file types like contacts, messages, whatsapp chats, music, etc.
Except that you can also choose between Standard and Advanced scanning modes see if any update.

      • Raj

Matt, Thanks for the response. But the phone have no external SD card installed. It’s a 16GB internal phone memory Lenovo S850. Hence I believe we are working on internal phone memory data recovery only. and I’m selecting only Gallery option for scanning process as you suggest but of no use. It’s still ending up with message “Scanning incomplete. Please try replugging and rescan it”. and I dont see any option to select Standard or Advance mode on Dr.Fone software and what’s the significance?. For your information, now I have purchased this software and running a registered version yet no gain! Can you further help please in this data recovery?

        • Matt

How do I choose Standard/Advanced mode?

    • Matt

If you have enabled certain file types recovery, like photos, videos, documents, you will have the option to select different scanning and recovery modes. It appears after you selected the file types and before you proceed to scan the mobile phone.

  178. ahmad

i accidentally deleted my photos and after that i’ve take pictures before i try to recover back using this Dr. Fone. During scanning, no percentage occur for more than 30 minutes. Only showing 0%. What i’m going to do? Pls advice..

    • Matt

You can try below tips see if any update:
      1. select only one file type each time and recover. for example, you can select only contacts/messages/photos/…., so this data recovery software will scan only the selected file type from your phone, this will speed up the scanning process;
      2. enable standard scanning mode other than advanced mode;
      3. if you have SD card, you can uninstall it, then scan and recover only files from your android phone’s internal storage.

      2. close unnecessary apps and software on both mobile phone and computer, especially those phone management tools;

says my phone can’t be rooted I have a galaxy s5 with at&t

    • Matt

this error occurs because the built-in temporary rooting feature does not work for your phone. in such case if you like to proceed, you need to have your mobile device rooted using third-party tools. please refer to this Android phone recovery troubleshooting page for details.

  181. Lucas

Nope, doesn’t work. Says my phone isn’t rooted… So, OTA doesn’t work, some apps don’t work. Had a great Nexus before trial version of Dr. Fone data recovery…

    • Matt

Did you get any error installing the OTA on your phone? Can you please send us some screenshot through email to illustrate the issue? Our email address can be found at the very top of this article above.

  182. Lucas

Deleted by accident a lot of pictures, tried DrFone recovery, trial version, however last night I got an OTA, but it can’t install because Dr.Fone seems to have rooted somehow my device. Nexus 5, Android 5.1.1 How can I unroot it so I can install OTA

    • Matt

You can uninstall the android data recovery app from your mobile phone, then refer to this guide to unroot Android phones.

  183. Swati

    Hi Matt,
I tried using Dr. fone trial version and it didnt work well for me. I wanted to ask a question. Does using dr. fone for android roots your phone automatically? I have no clue what rooting means. I just came across this software and i was eager to recover my data and so i used it. I don’t have an idea if my phone was rooted while using Dr fone and during the scanning process and thus i’m unaware of the fact if i have lost my phone’s warranty. Please enlighten me with some information regarding the same.
    Thanks

      • Swati

Thanks Matt for the information. Could you please tell how do i proceed with scanning because everytime i scan my phone, software stops responding and it hangs.

        • Matt

What’s your specific phone model number and android version please?
can you capture the screen and send us through email please?

Is this software works on ASUS zenfone 5 and do we need to buy this software

    • Matt

We have not tested the Android recovery software with an zenfone 5 yet. You can download the free version onto your computer and give it a shoot by yourself. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please proceed to buy this software only after you have verified the trial version works for you.

how many phones can i recover from one download

    • Matt

You can use the software for unlimited times to recover data from any number of phones you want.

  187. Sarah

Just to add I do have an SD card in my phone and I am reluctant to root my phone as I do not want to void my warranty! This is a new phone (to me) and I certainly can’t afford for a replacement and/or repairs should anything go wrong with rooting it. I have read rooting the device can lose data, applications etc from the device, seems risky to do when all I want to do is recover lost media…. is there no other way I can recover using this application?
    Thanks

    • Matt

For data recovery from the internal memory of phone, you can try the troubleshooting tips in my last reply.
Here is another way you can try to recover deleted data from SD card. The free version can help you recover up to 100M files for free. Try before you buy.

  188. Sarah

    Hi Matt,
I subscribed to the full version thinking that’s what I needed to do to get it to link fully to my phone however it still says device mode verification is unsuccessful, so not only have I lost my media off phone I’m now £41 short in my pocket and still no better off!
My phone is…. SM-G900F running on Android version 5.0
Any advice and/or a refund would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    • Matt

      Hi Sarah,
Samsung Galaxy S5 model SM-G900F should be supported. We have tested the mobile data recovery for Galaxy SM-G900F with various Android versions like 4.2.2, 4.4.2, 4.4.4, 5 without any problem.
      You can try:
      1. Are you using the data recovery on a PC or Mac? If you are a Windows user, make sure you are using the latest version of the data recovery software, the current V5.4.0.
      2. close unnecessary software on your PC or Mac, and unnecessary apps on the mobile phone;
      3. restart the phone recovery software;
      4. disconnect and reconnect your phone to USB port of the computer
      5. if still no luck, you can find more useful troubleshooting tips here.

      • Sarah

        Hi Matt,

I am using my pc which has windows. I have closed all active apps and software. I have downloaded the software again to ensure it is the most current – no version is available in properties or when clicking download so I am unsure of the version… it is from the link on this page?
I have disconnected and reconnected several times, I have even tried a different usb port on pc.
I have looked at the troubleshooting page but I cant find anything that gives me any resolution to the problem being it doesn’t recognise the device and I continue to get the message ‘device mode verification is unsuccessful’. If my device is supported why is it the software is unable to recognise it?
I have followed all troubleshooting tips and still nothing.
Anything else you can suggest Matt?

        • Matt

          Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

It just depends when it comes to the question of “support of not”. In order to recover as much data as possible, the Android phone recovery software will apply temporary rooting to the phone before recovery and will remove root from the phone after recovery automatically. The rooting process is the most critical part. If it failed, then it will not be able to recognize the device or proceed to next steps. Just like any other third party rooting software in the market, currently no rooting tool can work for all Android phones. A lot of things can affect it, such as Android version, firmware version, hardware, carrier, OEM patching. Additionally some variables depending on individual circumstances could also affect it. When we say this model is supported, it is based on our in-house experiment, we have a summarized list of many phone brands, model numbers, Android versions, etc. So the better way to find out a device is supported or not would be just try and see. On the other end, when we say the phone model is not supported, it does not mean you can’t recover data from it using the recovery software. Users can also try to root the phone using third party software at first, as our data recovery solution works better with rooted devices.

You can download the Android recovery software from this page to another computer, try to scan your phone on a new computer see if any update. Or you can uninstall the current installation from your computer, download the software from this page again, use the free version to scan your phone see if any update. Do not register the software to get the full version for now.
I’d like to hear your feedback after that.

          • Sarah

I already have subscribed that’s my issue, I thought I had to subscribe to recover so without looking into the free version I went for the one which meant I could recover it was only after this I discovered I had this problem so as you can imagine I am keen to get the device recognised so I can make the use of the £40-odd pound spent!
I don’t have access to another PC so I will have to uninstall and reinstall in the hope it works. If it doesn’t would I be able to get a refund?
            Thanks

          • Matt

yes, you can. If still no luck, please send us an email instead. As we do not handle billing issues on website comments. it is not safe to make sensitive information visible to the public.

I have a galaxy note 3 and one click fails to root. What should I do. Are there any third party you are aware of.

    • Matt

What’s the specific phone model number and Android version please?
We have tested various Note 3 models and the recovery software seems to be working well with them, like SM-N900, SM-N9000, SM-N9002, SM-N9005, SM-N9006, SM-N9007, SM-N9008, SM-N9009 and many others.
You can try to close unnecessary software on the computer and apps on Galaxy note, disconnect and reconnect your phone, restart the recovery software on your PC see if any update.
Yes, you can find some other third party rooting tools here.

      • James

        SM-900V is my phone model

  190. can't scan

hi, it didn’t work for me. i tried many times but it always says that the device mode verification is unsuccessful . my phone type is samsumg GT-7100, if it can’t match? However the trial can work. help~

    • Matt

The only difference between the trial version and full version is the data recovery feature can only be found in the full version. The trial version allows you to scan phones, but it does not allow you to export the found data from phones to computer.
Did you download different versions of the data recovery software on to your computer?
If the trial version can work, you can simply register the trial version to unlock its recovery feature thus get the full version, you do not need to download another copy of the software else where.

  191. Carla

Just reat Sara’s comment. My experience was the same as her’s. I have an HTC One M8. My phone went to a root menu, when I tried to restart it. I brought it into my mobile provider to make this screen go away. He (I think) did a factory reintall and I have consequently lost all my photos and messages. I read about rooting your device, but somehow my phone went to the rooting menue. Will your program help to restore my lost files? Thanks

    • Matt

The best way to find it out is to download the free version on to your computer and give it a shoot. For HTC smartphones, you can refer to this step-by-step guide to recover lost data from HTC phones, like photos, videos, contacts, messages and more. Note that if it was the hard reset performed on the phone, then this data recovery can’t help you get back those deleted data. You can find more details here: Recover deleted data after factory reset – soft vs hard reset.

  192. Sara

    Hi,
I have tried 3 times now to recover deleted whatsapp photos and videos however it has been unsuccessful in ‘device mode verification’, it then continues to attempt to scan however after a good while it says it is unable to complete and I need to root my device in order to continue? I don’t want to void my manufacturer warranty by rooting my device (I read this online) but I do want to recover my important photos and videos of my daughters 1st birthday!
    Help!
    Thanks

    • Matt

What’s your specific model number and Android version please?
Normally when the device is not supported by the software, you will need to root it using a third party rooting software before you can use it to recover data from your phone.
Do you have any SD card installed on the phone? If so you can also try to scan the SD card see if it is possible to recover photos and videos from MicroSD card other than the internal memory of your phone. See this guide to recover deleted data from SD card.

    Hi matt,

I set my Samsung S6 back to factory settings. . Can i restore my: msg, contacts & most of all my photos..

Will installing this software-doing this affect my warranty?

    Cheers

    • Matt

The best way to find it out is to download and give it a shot by yourself. Samsung S6 has many variants, it may not work for all Galaxy S6 models. There are many other reasons can affect it as well, firmware version, Android version, hardware, carrier, OEM patching, etc..
To recover data as much as possible, the Android phone recovery solution will root your device automatically. When the recovery ends, it will remove root from your phone, so your device will get back to unroot status. This allows rooting device without the fear of voiding your warranty.

  194. Marian

How do I uninstall your software from my phone and reset to its factory state. After installing the trial version and detecting deleted files (not those who need it) can not complete recovery because it is a trial version. The phone is detected as rooted and can not use other applications requiring Unroot status.

    • Matt

Normally you do not need to do it manually as it will unroot your phone automatically after data recovery unless your phone was rooted using third party tools. You can uninstall dr.fone for Android from the Application manager on the phone. then follow this guide to unroot your Android phone.

does anyone here have any success on recovering their files on their smartphones???

I’m gettig tired & upset of reading all the post here only receiving the answers that our phone model is NOT yet supported and need to root it 1st before it wouls work. i dont want to do that it removes tr purpose of buying the software wher being advertise it would work the way it should!!!

that’s why we always being asked what is the model of our phone so we will received an answer that the software not yet supported…. SO WHEN WILL THAT BE SUPPORTED?

  196. Todd

Tried this and no luck said either phone would not be supported or had to be rooted and its a Samsung S4

    • Matt

Thanks for your feedback and sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Samsung Galaxy S4 has many variants in different countries with different carriers, such as GT-9500, GT-9192, GT9505, GT-I9190, GT-I9192, GT-I9195 and many more. We have tested the phone recovery to be working well with above mentioned Galaxy S4 models that are powered by Android versions like 4.2.2, 4.4.2, 4.4.4, 5.0.2, 5.1.1, 4.3.1.
If your phone model is not supported, sometimes it might be the Android version or custom ROM on the phone is not supported, you may try to root the phone first. Our data recovery solution works better with rooted phones. To root the phone and grant the data recovery software the super user permission to access the phone can help recover more data from the phone.
Normally you do not need to root the phone by yourself, this data recovery software can temporarily root the phone before the data recovery, and it will unroot the phone after the recovery, all can be done automatically. You can find more tips from this Android recovery troubleshooting page.

    Hi

I lost all my camera pictures(not my other pictures).I’m currently trying out the free software and it scans it to a point and then says the scan is incomplete, try again. I wanted to see if the free software could actually retrieve my lost photos before i purchased the software. the problem is also that the the pictures it does get through are not my camera pictures, but other pictures saved on my phone. Am i doing something wrong?

    • Matt

      Hi,
The phone recovery software will scan and find all pictures saved on your phone, not only the camera photos but also other app photos. currently we have not separated them. It is a good feature to add though. You may have to wait until the scan complete of the pictures finishes in order to find the deleted photos. this may take a while. Following tips can help you reduce the time in scanning for image files on mobile phone:
      1. if any SD card installed on your phone, you can try to uninstall it if your camera photos were saved in the internal memory of your phone.
      2. prior to scanning phone, you have the option to select file types to scan and recover, make sure to choose only Gallery, not others such as videos, contacts, messages, documents and so on.
      3. try the Standard scanning mode if the advanced scanning mode takes very long, only enable advanced scanning if you can’t find the lost files in the standard scanning mode.

    Hi,
i’ve downloaded your wondershare dr fone app, however when it comes to the preperation of the recovery it says “downloading recovery package failed”. I tried a couple of times to retry it however it doesn’t want to go.
Is there any solution for this problem?
    Thanks a lot!
    Avi

    • Matt

      Hi Avi,
      Thanks for your feedback.
Could you please capture the screen and send us a screenshot via email to illustrate the issue? Our email address can be found at the top left corner of the page, or you can find it from the Contact page of the site.
Also what’s your specific phone model number and Android version please?

i am trying to recover all the items i lost because of an factory resent done by my son by accident, while the system is scanning my devise it stays stock on 85%, i have cancel the scan, unplugged the usb and restarted the process…. its been over8hrs and the scanning stuck again at 85%. what am i doing wrong? or this this not compatible with my Motorola xt1040 BTW i followed each step by step.

    • Matt

Motorola xt1040 is a supported phone model. The Android phone recovery software has been tested to work well with Moto xt1040 which is running on Android version 4.4.4. However if you updated to newer Android versions, the phone recovery may not work well. In such case, you can try to root your Android phone. You can refer to this Android data recovery troubleshooting tips page.

On my Motorola Droid, is the phone calendar considered an app or data? I’m trying to decide whether to continue with the wondershare Dr Fone process or not. Thanks

    • Matt

The Android phone data recovery does not support Calendar recovery at present. You will need to consider other options. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    Hi
Do you have to root your phone for this to work?

    • Jane

      Hi
Do you have to root your phone for this to work?
      I have a samsung galaxy s6.

      • Matt

Normally you do not need to root your phone by yourself. This Android recovery software has the built-in feature to temporarily root your phone automatically. One-click root will be applied to your device automatically by the program, so as to recover data as much as possible. When the recovery ends, your device will get back to unroot status. This allows rooting device without the fear of voiding your warranty.

        • Tamarra Coleman

Hello. The Trial version states that it can recover data for Broken Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. However, when you get to the “Recover Data From Broken Android Phone” area, the device names and models do not list S6.

I can not “root the phone” because the phone is broke…right? All of the directions I see for the S6 rooting requires it the phone to be turned on. If this is the case, then are we saying the recovery system CAN NOT work on BROKEN Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge phones?

I have tried to use the “Can not find my device” area, and when I put in the information and hit the submit button…nothing happens.

          Please assist.

          • Matt

The current version of this “Android broken data recovery” tool does not support Samsung Galaxy S6, thus you can’t find it in the “Device names and models” list. it supports S3, S4, S5 and other few models so far. When you submit a new phone model number from there, the data will be sent in and our developer team will consider to add the support to the new phone model you submitted in future software upgrades.

  202. KarenGC

Will the software recover my deleted phone calendar on my Motorola Droid? Some of the advertising screens include Calendar as something to be recovered but some don’t. I’ve chosen the Advanced option and it’s running just fine. Am I just wasting my time? Thanks

    • Matt

Android phone calendar recovery is not supported yet. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  203. izzy

when I open the program, all is well, once I connect my LG phone and turn on the debugging, program shuts down. I have sent problem reports 6 times. Problem persists and I would like to know how to overcome.

    • Matt

Can you please provide us your specific phone model number and iOS version?

  204. Celeste

Never mind about my last comment, this did not bring back any of my data from before factory reset, it only showed me stuff I already had and deleted after the factory reset

    • Matt

It can only retrieve back those deleted data that has not been overwritten by new data saved on the phone. So to avoid saving new data on to the phone after manual deletion or phone reset can help recover lost files as many as possible.

  205. Celeste

I can’t choose advanced mode after choosing normal mode what do I do?

  206. Riz

It unfortunately did not work or manage to recover anything so i’ve just decided to not try anymore, im due an upgrade on my phone in a couple days anyway so hopefully this will not happen again, it was so strange the way it happened because when i went into my pocket to get out my phone on the screen it was already asking me to set up the date and time and then to sign into my google account which i did as i thought maybe the phone just restarted in my pocket by accident but then all of a sudden the phone reset everything like it was the first time i got the phone removing everything and the wallpaper and page settings went back to its original style *sigh* very annoying and crazy at the same time how the phone managed to get it self to the factory reset set up screen just by being in my pocket without me even doing anything but anyways next time i shall be more cautious and thanks for trying to help.

    • Matt

      Hi Riz,
Sorry to hear that you lost all the data on the phone accidentally and the mobile recovery does not work for you.
Sometimes if you put something else in the same pocket with your mobile phone, it may ‘try’ to unlock your phone accidentally. If this happened several times in a short period of time, the phone may ‘think’ you forgot pin/password/pattern and trying to reset and unlock it. The chance is very slim though.

  207. Riz

Hi the software is currently analyzing my device however it is now just stuck on 90% and keeps coming up with the steps to usb bugging which is already on but it keeps saying its disconnected after a few seconds so im just ticking the box on my samsung s4 mini on and off every time it wants but it still stuck on 90%. Is this normal or is something wrong? it also says my analyzing device failed but it is trying alternatives

    • Matt

You can try following these tips:
      1. disconnect your phone from computer, then re-connect via USB cord;
      2. restart the mobile phone recovery software on your computer;
      3. close related mobile phone management software on PC and phone management apps on mobile phone;
      4. root your phone first, as this data recovery software works better with rooted phones, see this guide to root Android phones.
      5. you can also find more trouble shooting tips here.

Can you help me? I just downloaded the free trial version of dr.fone. I put my phone in download mode and now my screen says dr Fone, recovering. At first is was loading at step 2 (identifying device) until it suddenly said “failed to detect device” . Now I can’t get my phone to work again! It remains on Dr. Fone mode. What can I do??

        • Matt

you can close the Dr Fone recovery software on computer, disconnect your phone from USB, restart the mobile phone again see if any help. If still no luck, you can submit the log files from the recovery software to our technician. See this screenshot.

I’m having a problem. I have the Samsung galaxy Note 2 or 3 I believe, but I hit applications but I can’t find the development button.

    • Matt

Recent Android versions since 4.x has hidden the Developer options by default. You can enable it on your mobile device before using the Andrid data recovery to retrieve data from it. See this guide to turn on USB debugging on Samsung mobile.

Hi I downloaded it; but it cannot identify my device Tecno N7

    • Matt

      Hi,
Based on our experiments, this Android phone recovery software works for Tecno N7, N9 which is running on Android 4.0.4, 4.4.2.
What’s your Android version please, was it rooted before? You can try to disconnect and re-connect your phone from USB, restart the phone recovery software see if any help.

    Hi,
i have lenovo A7000.i had lost data from sd card due to factory reset.is there any way to recover the data?

    • Matt

Firstly you can uninstall and take out the SD card from your mobile phone. Then use a card reader to connect your SD card and double check see if the data is still saved on it. If the data was deleted from SD card, you can refer to this guide to recover lost data from SD card.

  213. shanthi

i have finished the scanning process but i am not able to see the recovered files. kindly send me the registration code.after the registration is there there any possibility to see the recovered files

    • Matt

If you are on the trial version, you can only scan and preview the lost data from your moible phone. In order to recover lost data you have to register the software to get full version, so you can extract deleted files from mobile to computer after you have finished scanning process. If you can’t find the deleted files you like to get back after scanning, then most likely your files have been overwritten. You will not be able to find and recover them in full version neither. So make sure to Try Before You Buy.

If the trial version works for you, you can order the software from above article, make sure to select the right version either Windows or Mac accorind to your computer OS. After that you will receive the registration code through email within several minutes. If your registration code or license not received, please contact us via email. We will be happy to assist you from there.

    Hello
The program won’t proceed to the next step from the Identify step

I plugged/unplugged my device and turned on/off the debugging option, but it just won’t go to the next step
Please help ! Thank you so much

    • Matt

If the phone recovery software can’t get through the identify step or analyzing step, most likely your phone model or Android version is not supported currently. In such case, you may consider to root your phone first. The data recovery program works better with rooted phones. You can find more troubleshooting tips here.

Hi, is there any way to get text messages older than 1 month ago from my phone? i never deleted them, it’s just my phone not showing those text anymore. is it automatically deleted by the phone? or is it just being hidden? anyway, is it possible to recover those texts? i downloaded wondershare dr.fone but the analyzing stopped at 90% for ever. i desperately need those text, any help will be much appreciated.

    • Matt

If you did not manually deleted the text messages, they might be deleted automatically. Android phones, such as the notable Samsung galaxy phones has the maximum numbers of messages limit settings to 200. If you reached the text messages limit, your phone can delete them automatically. You can refer to this guide (how to delete messages on Samsung phones?) to see if you have enabled this option and turn it off to avoid data loss in the future. We have talked about how to automatically delete old messages on Samsung mobile phone at the bottom section of above linked article.

The Android phone recovery software may help you get those deleted text messages back. As to the problem you ran into, you can refer to this troubleshooting page for more tips see if any help.

    Hello matt,

Nice of you to keep answering our queries. My question is whats the program doing at 90% where most of us gets stuck? I have a note 3 which has a 26 Gig of internal memory and a SD card of only 2 Gigs. Removing the SD card in this case would proved negligible due to its small storage. For the record, I tried to retrieve only gallery or picture files. Im thinking that my PC needs time to go over the 26 gigs of internal memory thats why I seem to be stuck at 90%. I have been stuck 3 times and vary the waiting timer from 1 hour to my last which I waited fir 3 hrs stuck at 90% before eventually capitulating and hit the sack. Whats it doing at 90%??

    • Matt

      Hello,
Do you mean getting stuck in analyzing your phone? In the analyzing process, the data recovery software will check or install neccessary driver files, it will also try to root your phone temporarily to get the superuser access to your phone (when the recovery ends, it will put your phone back to unrooted status), meanwhile an app will be installed on to your phone.

  217. Melissa

I accidentally deleted my photo folder on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 yesterday. Please help! These photos are my kids with their great grandparents that we never get to visit. I can’t replace them. I really want to use your software but am having troubles.
I have tried to run the free trial version multiple times and it makes it past the part of setting the USB Debugging and searching for my phone. It gets to the screen that says I need to have 20% battery life to hit continue, so I select continue and then suddenly it just resets and goes back to the first step. I have 98% battery life, so I don’t know why it’s reverting back to the beginning. I’ve tried at least 20 times unplugging, closing out, etc but that is as far as I can get it to go.
I have also tried to click the “Buy” button for Android recovery and it just sends me to the Ios page but I need Android. It asks me to enter a registration code, but I don’t know how to get one. I’m confused because online it says this is a super easy process, but I can’t seem to get anywhere with it.

    • Matt

The mobile phone recovery software works better with rooted phones, you can go to root your phone before using our data recovery software to scan the phone and recover its files. For your convenience, you can refer to following guide to root Android phones. There are different software to root Android phones from a computer or apps to root Android phones, we highly recommend you to use a rooting software on PC, connect your phone to PC via USB and get the phone rooted. Note that by rooting the phone, you will void its warranty.
Which page do you refer to when you say the “Buy” button sends you to the “los page”? Can you please provide us some screenshot??
This is a premium data recovery software, you can use its free trial version to scan your phone to make sure the data you like to recover can be found by it. It gives users the chance to test it before they buy. In order to actually recover data with it, you need to buy the full version online. When you placed the order, you will get an email with the license name and code in it in minutes. You can then use it to register the software and get full version.

  218. Chris

    Hello,
I am wondering why i can’t scan my android storage by advance mode. There was no such opinion for me.
I’ ve already buy the software. I only can choose standard mode now.

My phone is Pantech IM-A880S, using android 4.4.2

    • Chris

no advance mode for me too choose…

      • Matt

this option only shows when you have selected to enable some particular file types within this phone recovery software. Please see our previous reply to your comment for the detail.s

    • Matt

This Pantech model is supported by the Android data recovery software.
The Advanced mode only shows when you have enabled some file types recovery, such as gallery, videos, audio, documents. If you select to recover only contacts or text message, you will not see this mode.
      Please double check.

i m using samsung galaxy core I ran the program I followed all of the prompts. In the alternative process it hung up at 90% I waited patiently but its show device mode verification unsuccessful, analyzing device failed and alternative process stuck in 90% so pls advice.

    • Matt

Based on our experiment, this Android data recovery works for Samsung Galaxy Core GT-I8262 on various Android 4.x versions.
What’s your phone model and Android version please?
Please give it another try following tips see if any help:
      1. close any other phone management software on your computer when using our phone recovery software;
      2. un-plug and re-plugin your phone through USB;
      3. restart Android recovery software on your computer;
You can also find more troubleshoting tips here.

I have a lg tribute that runs the 4.4.2. When I first ran the program I followed all of the prompts. In the analysis mode it hung up at 90% I waited patiently but its show device mode verification unsuccessful, analyzing device failed and alternative process stuck in 90% so pls advice.

    • Matt

Just like our earlier response to @Heath, we have not tested this Android phone recovery with LG tribute yet. The built-in temporary rooting does not seem to work with this phone model. You can make use of a third party tool to root your phone, then use the recovery software to recover data from the phone. For example, you can refer to this guide to root an Android phone. There are rooting apps available as well. However we recommend you to use a rooting program on computer and root your phone from there. It is because downloading or saving any new data on to your phone may overwrite those deleted data on it.

  221. ck

does it works for galaxy s6?

    • Matt

Can you please provide us the specific phone model and Android version?
You can also download the software and test it out with your Galaxy s6.

  222. Alex Pascual

Matt, while I was waiting for your reply I actually bought the full version already so I could save lost files from my Galaxy Note 4.
I tried it 3 times now. The software cant recover anything I’m upset…

Here’s the message that I get.

    (Wondershare Dr.fone for Android

“Currently data recovery from your device can not be supported. If you still want to recover your data, please root your device first.” )

  223. Alex Pascual

I bought the software but it didn’t work? 🙁 I have a Galaxy Note 4
    I’m trying it again…

    • Matt

did you get any error and how to replicate it? Can you please provide us your specific phone model and Android version?

      • Alex Pascual

        GALAXY Note 4
        SAMSUNG-SM-N910A
        Android Version 5.0.1

(Currently Data Recovery from your device can not be supported. If you still want to recover your data, Please root your device first.)

So what should I do now???

        • Matt

The Data recovery software has been tested to be working for various Galaxy Note 4 models, such as SM-N910,SM-N9100,SM-N910C,SM-N910F, SM-N910G, SM-N910H,SM-N910L and more. However we have not tested it for the SM-N910A yet. Now you can try to root your phone first, as our Android recovery software works better with rooted devices. There are many Android rooting programs you can choose from, you can find two from this link http://www.softwarert.com/root-android-phone/. Make sure to use a rooting program on your computer, then connect and root the phone. There are also various rooting apps for Android which we do not recommend though, as they may overwrite those deleted data on the phone.

          • Alex Pascual

            Matt,

I’m not comfortable doing that rooting process. When do you think you guys can test it on the SM-N910A? I bought the software for the ease of use.

I had my service provider move my sim card to my old iPhone 4S to avoid further data overwriting to the Galaxy Note 4. I’ll will not use this phone until I recover my contacts, photos, videos, text and more. Pls let me know soon you guys get this tested.

            Thanks,
            Alex

          • Matt

We will let our programmers know about this, so that they can work on it. Sincerely hope you can offer your trust and support to our R&D team. As our registered customer, you can enjoy free life-time upgrade of the paid program.

If you do not want to root the phone, you can try other alternatives. I am wondering if the data is on the internal memory of the phone, or on an SD card? If it’s on the SD card, I can get you setup with another recovery program that would just require you to attach the card to the computer. And if you are running Windows on your PC, you can get 100mb of data recovered free with the program. Here is the link to the SD card recovery guide.

          • Alex Pascual

What do you mean SD card? are you suggesting I disassemble my Galaxy Note 4 and look for the SD card?

          • Matt

I mean MicroSD card which you can use to expand your storage space and save some of your data from the internal memory of your Galaxy note to this external storage. Most Android phones support SD card or external memory.
If you have installed a SD card, you can go to uninstall it from your mobile phone settings, then go to pop it out from your handset.

  224. Alex Pascual

I recently lost my phone 2 days ago at a store and it has been return to the store and security called me to pick It up, Unfortunately I called AT&T to put a block to IMEI # so no one else can use it even to another network. So the phone was useless to anyone who can find it.

Unfortunately my phone was reset to factory default. Now AT&T given me new Sim card to make it work but all my Contacts, Photos, Notes, Apps that I Installed, Audio, Videos and all files that are save in the Device is gone 🙁

Will this Software will recover it? Do I have to purchase a copy or the trial will also do the job of recovering my files?

    Thanks,
    Alex

    • Matt

      Hi Alex,
You can download and try the free trial version. Use it to scan your phone see if any files can be found in the scanning process. Any data found in the scanning can be recovered. In order to recover deleted files from Android phone, you need to register the software to get fulll version. The trial version allows you to test the software before purchase the full version.

  225. Heath

I have a lg tribute that runs the 4.4.2. When I first ran the program I followed all of the prompts. In the analysis mode it hung up at 90% I waited patiently like it said I started with a full batt on my laptop it completely drained it unfortunately I wasn’t near outlets at time so I got home. Recharged batt and ran program again this time we got to the back up your data to computer part so I did and then it continued to run not doing anything. So I shut down program and restarted I manged to get the backup to start then was promted that my phone must be rooted. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the Tributes? I know they are alot different then most lg phones I have had.. Thanks Heath

    • Matt

We have not tested our Android phone recovery with LG tribute smartphone yet. It seems the built-in temporary rooting does not work with your phone model. You can make use of a third party tool to root your phone, then use the recovery software to recover data from the phone.

  226. Rachel

    Hi,

When I get to the screen where I select the files that I want to recover it does not continue past this screen. On the left side of the screen a loading circle continues to circle the ready option, but nothing else ever happens. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    • Matt

What’s your Android version and specific phone model please? If possible, please also kindly send us some screenshot to illustrate the issue you met through email.

  227. pv

The software installed an app called L5 on my Oneplus One.
It then said failed to analyse device and tried alternative.
It then said that phone could not be rooted.

COuld you kindly advise what I should do next?

    • Matt

To recover data as much as possible, the Android phone recovery solution will root your device temporarily. When the recovery ends, your device will get back to unroot status. This allows rooting device without the fear of voiding your warranty.
If the built-in rooting tool does not work for your phone, you can root the phone using other solution at first. For example, you can try the root sofware from this link, http://www.softwarert.com/root-android-phone/

      • pv

        Hi Matt,

Have you got reports of Dr Fone having problems with the Cyanogen OS 12? Could my problem be due to the OS installed on the Oneplus One?

        • Matt

          Hi,
Yes, this could be the problem, as we have also received similar feedback from other users. It seems not to work if you use our phone recovery software to recover deleted data from Oneplus One which is running on Cyanogen OS 12. We have forwarded this issue to our development team. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

hi the softwarert is successfully work in my phone and my laptop. i see the all potential recovered file, picture, video and some important things. i thank full for that but how can i recovered the picture and video if they have need to buy the full version and the price is to expensive here in the philippines.?

what can i do right now.? plz i need to recover all the picture. that’s all i need. plz

    • Matt

The Android phone recovery software is a premium software, you have to buy the full version in order to recovered those deleted pictures found in the scanning process.
If you do not mind, you can preview the photos, capture and save them as thumbnails to your computer, so you do not need to buy the full version. This however can’t hlep you get the full HD images.
You can also double check see if any backup saved before. If your pictures saved on the SD card of your mobile phone, you can refer to this guide to recover files from SD card. Using this data recovery, you can recover up to 100MB files for Free. Alternatively you can try to google see if any other free Android phone recovery software tools available.

  229. shannon

its asking me to root my phone. Do i need to root my phone for this to work

    • Matt

normally you do not have to root the phone manually. To recover data as much as possible, the Android phone recovery solution will root your device automatically. When the recovery ends, your device will get back to unroot status. This allows rooting device without the fear of voiding your warranty.

  230. Megan

Last night my phone reset in my pocket by the unlock code being wrong 9 times. I didn’t have ANYTHING backed up. It did a complete factory reset. Will this still work without a memory card and without having backed things up?

    • Matt

This Android data recovery software can scan the internal memory of Android phones to recover deleted data without backups. We haven’t test this Android phone recovery under such circumstances. Please do Not use your phone for now as any new data generated on the phone may overwrite those deleted data. Download the software to your Mac/PC computer and use it to scan your phone. Any files found in the scanning process can be retrieved. Please give it a shot, we’d love to hear your feedback after that.

    • Matt

What’s your specific phone model and android version please?
Is it stuck in analyzing device or scanning device?

  233. Mel

Hi, I am trying to recover data on a galaxy s6 edge but have been unsuccessful so far. The software hangs at 89% scanned with 0 files identified. I noticed that at the ‘matching model completed’ step it says that device mode verification was unsuccessful. Are there any plans to release a version that recognises the s6’s anytime soon?

    • Matt

It works for some Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge models, such as SM-G9250 and SM-G925F on Android 5.0.2. The present version doesn’t work well for Samsung Galaxy S6 rooting. That’s why it may fail to analyze the device sometimes. But we are keeping on making great efforts to enhance our program’s quality and continue to release new versions to advance our program’s performance. At present, you can root the Galaxy S6 using third party software, such as this android root for free, then use our Android recovery guide to scan the phone and recover data from it. Please note that rooting the phone using this software will void the warranty of your phone.

Accidently i had done the factory data reset and my messages has gone. kindly help. is that appliaction can help me to recover my messages. my phone is lava irs X5.

    SUDEEP

    • Matt

      Hi Sudeep,
This mobile phone data recovery has been tested to work for some Lava mobile phone models, like Lava IRIS 501, Lava A500, and so on. However we have not tested it with Lava IRS X5 model yet so we are not sure whether it can help you recover deleted messages from Lava irs X5. You can download this phone recovery on to your Windows PC and try it out for free.

  235. yazan

    Dear team,

i have downloaded it , but when i use it it asks for a registration or a key for registration, can anyone help me to do this , i really need to get back my contacts they are around 1300 contact and i cant get them all 🙁

    • Matt

      Hi,
You can preview contacts and numbers in the free trial version of the mobile phone recovery software. If you do not want to buy the full version, you can manually write down contacts and phone numbers found in the scanning process. Only when you register the software, you can one click to recover any selected or all contacts from mobile phone to computer. All contacts found in scanning process can be recovered after registration.
If any contacts not found in the trial version, you will not be able to find them using the registered version neither.

  236. karthika

i can’t open my mail now. how can i get registration code?

    • Matt

can you provide us the order number and email address on file? Please also provide us a new valid email so we can send your registration code to.
Alternatively you can find your order details from this order lookup page: https://admin.mycommerce.com/app/cs/lookup

      Hi Scott,

Galaxy S4 has different variants, what’s your phone model and Android version please? Is it rooted?

You can try as following see if any help:
      1. stop the Analyzing, restart the data recovery software;
      2. disconnect and reconnect your mobile phone from USB;
      3. disable and re-enable USB debugging;
      4. make sure to unlock your phone and keep it active during the analyzing process;
      5. close unneccesary software or apps, especially those phone management related tools, on PC and mobile phone.

You can download this software on to your Windows PC, then use it to scan your mobile phone and recover data from its internal memory. Based on our test, it works for Xiaomi Mi3 on various Android versions, like V4.0.3, 4.2.1, 4.4.2.

Hi. I have OnePlus One phone and I accidentally lost all data after a factory reset. My phone is rooted and running Android Lollipop v5.0.2.
Dr. Fone always gets stuck at Analyzing on 90%. I left it for a few hours but still no luck.
I have lots of important data on my phone and need to recover it asap. Please help and advice. Thanks.

Hi Matt. Tried all of the above yet no good. Pls advice as I need to get important stuff from my phone.
I’m currently trying the FREE version, to see if Dr. Fone can find the lost files. If it can, I’d be more than willing to purchase the registered version and get things started. Please advice as to how can I overcome this problem.

  240. Brittany

Hi. My phone somehow deleted all of my pictures from the past week of mine and my husband’s honeymoon. I ran the recovery (which took about 10 hours…) and it recovered a bunch of images, but a lot of them are displayed only as a darker blue mountains/sun on a lighter blue background in the preview area. The pictures were all stored to my internal memory. Does this mean that the irreplaceable pictures are gone forever? This only happened yesterday evening, so more than likely they probably weren’t already overwritten? It also displays some pictures that had been deleted from my sd card (from my old phone that were transferred to new phone on sd card), but it only displays half of the picture. Is there anything I can do to get these pictures back?

    • Matthew

      Hi,

      Thanks for your messages.
It is hard to tell if the deleted data has been overwritten or not, since we do not know why and how the pictures were deleted. They could be deleted by destructive virus, antivirus programs, or due to other reasons. Also a lot of user activities on the phone can generate new data and thus erase the deleted data.
You can follow below tips see if any help:
      1) the recovery program has two scanning modes: standard and advanced modes. enable advanced mode before scanning your phone and its SD card. this mode is more powerful to find more lost data.
      2) if you are sure the photos you want to recover were saved in your internal memory other than SD card, you can uninstall and take out the SD card, then use the phone recovery software to scan and recover photos from the internal memory only. This can save you a lot of time in scanning the storage space.
      3) enable only photo recovery or video recovery if need, while disable other file types, such as contacts, messages, documents, etc. This can also save your time greatly.
      4) For the SD card recovery, go to enable advanced mode before scanning, if it is still not able to help you get back the half of the missing pictures, you can download and use this data recovery instead, http://www.softwarert.com/recover-sd-card-files/ . It has three different scanning modes. You can try partition recovery or raw file recovery modes see if it can retrieve more deleted files from your SD card.

      • Brittany

        Hi Matt,

I was able to retrieve most of the pictures from my internal memory…or at least I thought I had. The images are all displaying correctly in the thumbnail format in the file i recovered them to, but when I try to open them (in windows live photo gallery or copying into word) most of the pictures are only displaying as a few lines of color/strips of the very top of the pictures. Is there any way to get the full size picture to look like the thumbnail, and if not is there any way to make the thumbnails bigger/full size?

        • Matt

The data could be partially overwritten, thus you can’t get the pictures in full size.
can you please send me some images in problem so I can test it out on my end?

  241. madzz

    hi,

i have samsung quatrro gt-18552, it started scanning my device….but for pat one day it is only says 21% done…..wat to b done now…y does it take soo long….?asap

    • Matthew

      Hi,
You can try below tips see if any help:
      1. uninstall SD card if you only want to recover files from phone’s internal memory. Some data like contacts, messages can only be saved to the internal memory. Or sometimes you know the deleted files you want to recover were saved on internla memory other than extermal menory, you can uninstall the SD card to save your time in the scanning process.
      2. stop the scanning process, then disconnect & reconnect phone through USB cable; This method has helped many users to successfully scan and recover data.
      3. restart phone recovery software on PC;
      4. close unneccessary apps on mobile and software on PC.

  242. Bree

I DID all of that. It still doesn’t work and I bought the full version. Ive restarted EVERYTHING. Ive turned everything off and on. Im VERY technologically inclined. Everything you’ve told me to do i’ve done it a million plus times. What do I do.

    • Matthew

      Hi Bree,
Have you tried to re-install the phone recovery program on your PC?
You can refer to @Ryan’s comment above on May 9, 2015 at 11:09 pm. It seems he has the same problem as you. And the re-installation and restart of his PC has fixed the issue.

  243. bree

On step 2 it loads fast till it gets to 90% then it stops and then takes me back to the opening the debuggermode or asks me to reconnect my device when i havent unplugged it. I already looked through any other troubleshooting or links thats been uploaded, nothing works.

    • Matthew

      Hi Bree,
      Thanks for your message.
Sometimes even if the Debugging mode is enabled, you can also try to disable then re-enable it. This may help the Android recovery tool to proceed to scan your phone. So does the disconnect and reconnect. They work similarly like you close unresponsive software, then restart it. Especially the disconnect & reconnect simple trick seems to have helped many user successfully scan their phone and recover data from the phone.

      • bree

I’ve already done that also, it still doesnt work

        • Matthew

What’s your phone model, Android version please? And was it a rooted phone?

          • bree

Android 4.4.2 LG Optimus and no its not

          • Matthew

Can you please specify the phone model? It is because, LG Optimus series include various models, such as GT540, P990, F240K, VM670 and many others.

      • Ryan

        Hi,

Same problem as Bree (I think). While on the “2.Identify your Device” portion of Dr.Fone, I’m having it stop at 90% then after a few minutes of waiting(without notification) it goes back to to the USB Debugging Diagram. After closing the program, reopening in admin(and non-admin), turning USB Debugging off/on, and reconnecting the device in every order combination it still stops at 90%. I’m not sure what else to try. I feel like I’m missing a setting outside of turning on Developer options and activating USB Debugging

        Galaxy S4
        Android Version: 4.4.2
        Model Number: SGH-M919

        • Matthew

Best on our test, the phone recovery software works for Galaxy S4, model SGH-M919 with version 4.4.2.
You can try to close phone management software tools on PC and unneccesary apps on your phone, then use the recovery software to scan your phone again see if any update.
You can also refer to this link for more tips and tricks.

          • Ryan

After re-installing Dr.Fone then restarting my PC, the program seems to work again. Not sure why there was a problem on the second attempt to run it. The very first time I installed and ran it no problems occurred, but the second time around there was the issue discussed above. Having my third attempt work successful after the re-installation and restart of my PC is refreshing.

          • Matthew

            Hi Ryan,
I am glad to hear that the phone recovery software works successfully again.
It is hard to explain why it may run into problems sometimes and then back up to normal another time. Could there be a software glitch, conflict, or other issues. A fresh installaion or re-installation, a PC restart, these can help solve these issues.

  244. Ivana

Can I recover without buying the app?

    • Matthew

Normally you should buy the full version to recover all lost data. On the free trial version, you can preview some lost data, such as contacts, messages, photos, etc. For contacts, messages, you can preview and recover them one by one on the trial version. For photos, you can only recover the thumbnails other than the full HD photos on the trial version.
Basically if you want only certain or few files that can be previewed using the free trial version, you do not need to buy the full version.
Some data types, such as music, video, these files can’t be previewed, you will need to buy the full version in order to recover them.

  245. Damian

i have paid for and downloaded the recovery tool (I lost all my pictures and whatsapp chats due to a factory reset when google updated), however it appears this will not work for me as the phone does not have A USB Utilities option. Please advise if there is another way or I have just wasted my money. Thanks

    • Matt

      Hi Damian,
Do you mean the USB debugging feature? It can be found after you have enabled Developer mode on your Android phone. As USB debugging is an option that usually put into the Developer mode settings. For example, if you are using HTC smartphones, you can refer to this guide to enable USB debugging on HTC.

  246. addis

hi i use this software but how to i know registration code .

    • Matt

      Hi,
You can use the Android recovery software to scan your phone for lost data. Any data found during the scan can be recovered. However in order to actually extract data from phone to computer, you need to purchase a license key. You can order it within the software or purchase the license from this direct link, one time payment, life-time license, free upgrade. After that the registration code will be sent to you through email in minutes.

  247. Denise

    Hello,

My phone did a hard restart and I lost all my pics that were not saved to my sd card. 🙁 I’m trying to use the free trial to even see if the system will be able to recover my photos. It knows my model name but says device mode verification unsuccessfully. Debugging is on and working and it’s trying alternative options, but gets stuck at 90% and keeps saying device disconnect. My version is 4.4.4…. is this the problem? I’m not sure what else to do… I ONLY have my photos selected to receive and it is still taking an extremely long time on alternative options. 🙁 Please help.

    • Matt

      Hello,
      What’s your phone model please?
This recovery software works for Android version 4.4.4, so this should not be the problem.
If you know the pictures are not saved on the SD card, you can uninstall the SD card on your phone, then use the Android recovery to scan and recover data from your phone’s internal storage. This can greatly save your time in the scanning process. We know that some SD card could have very large storage capacity, to scan both phone’s ROM and external storage may double the scanning time or more.
As to the USB debugging mode, you can try to disable it, then re-enable it see if any update.
The device model verification unsuccessfuly error does not mean the Android recovery does not work for your phone, sometimes you can restart the Android recovery program on your PC, disconnect your phone and reconnect, these simple tricks can help you proceed to next steps and recover data from your phone.
It is hard to identify the reason why the phone recovery works unexpectedly though, as there are just so many Android phones on the market and each has its own unquie configurations and environment.
Another tip is to close unnecessary software on your computer especially those phone management tools and computer security management tools, also phone manager app on your mobible can also cause the Android recovery not to work properly.
You can try at least restart the Android recovery, reconnect the phone through USB see if any help. For more troubleshooting tips, you can refer to this Android phone recovery troubleshooting page.

Hi Matt, I have been trying to install the software to retrieve some messages that accidently got deleted when they transferred them to my new s5 I didn’t know that the messages weren’t locked so when I deleted some messages it deleted some messages that I had from my dad he passed away and those messages are very important to me but my download acts like it is stuck at 99% of identifying my phone? what should I do? I am scared to death and people keep texting me and I am afraid to answer them, I want my messages back please help.

    • Matt

      Hi Kelly,
The Android recovery software may work unexpectedly as we have so large an Android family. The Android recovery is able to recover up to 3000 models so far. But sometimes we may find it works with one S5, not the other due to the different configurations and environment on mobile phones. Some phone management software on your computer or mobile phone may also cause the phone recovery to work improperly.

A simple trick is to quit the phone recovery software, disconnect your phone, reconnect your phone, then use the phone recovery software to scan your phone again. A trick seems really simple, but has fixed the problem for many users.

You can find more tips and tricks from this Android recovery guide.

  249. Julie

It says analyzing device failed.. I’ve tried many times before and after rooting, but same results..
my phone’s Note 3 and I factory reset cuz I couldn’t turn it on. I really need my son’s photos back.. please help..

    • Matt

Samsung note 3 is supported. Before you use this phone recovery software to analyze and scan your phone, you have to turn on the phone, enable USB debugging on your device, keep it active during the process, pay attention to any prompt on the recovery program interface, you may find some important tips there. You do not need to root your phone by yourself. Make sure to download the latest version of the phone recovery software above, it has the built-in feature to temporarily root your phone automatically before scanning and recovering data on your phone. When the recovery finished, it will put your phone to unrooted status.
Again, you can check out this guide and troubleshooting page for more useful info, http://www.softwarert.com/android-data-recovery-guide/

  250. Julie

It keeps on failing to analyze device.. I’ve tried 4 times already after rooting.. please help..

    • Matt

You do not need to root the phone manually, new version of this Android recovery software has the built-in feature to temporarily root your phone. You can find more details and troubleshooting tips from this Android recovery guide page.

  251. Mihai

    No, I don’t have any option 🙁
    I use version 5.0.3

    • Matt

It seems you are using an Android phone without external storage or memory card. The advanced scanning mode will show up when you have SD card or memory card installed on the phone and have enabled related file types recovery from the external storage as well.
So if you can’t find the image files you want to retrieve using this phone recovery, you should consider other methods or tools.

  252. shubh

    Hi MAtt
my htc desire 816g suddenly got switched off, and i sent it to service centre. Now they are saying that it will be formatted and software will be updated, due to which alll images and data will be lost from phone memory, so i want to ask that IS this software can help me to recover those images as they are very important.

    • Matt

      Hi shubh,
The software can recover data from HTC Desire series phones, such as DESIRE HD, DESIRE 300, DESIRE 310, DESIRE 500, DESIRE 600, DESIRE 610, DESIRE SV, DESIRE_500, DESIRE 700, DESIRE 816 and many other HTC models.
If the image files and data on your phone’s internal memory have been deleted, formatted, but the phone is still functioning, you can try this phone recovery, use it to scan your phone for the lost or deleted files. However any new data saved on the phone including the software update may overwrite those deleted or formatted data which will cause the permanent data loss. That’s because deleted data on your phone will remain on the storage, they are still recoverable. The paths to these files are masked so you can’t access them without profession data recovery software. The deleted files are flagged as deletion, so new data to be saved on the phone can erase them. When the deleted data has been overwritten by new data, this software can’t recover them. That’s why some users find this software work, others not. And some users find it is able to recover some files, but not all. Any way, you can give the recovery software a try at least. It is free to download and try.

    • Mihai

      Hi Matt,

Thank you for your response, ‘Advanced mode’ is in the payed version. I try with the free one to see if it finds something, oterwhise I won’t by the application …

      • Matt

        Hi Mihai,
        You are welcome.
The Android phone recovery software allows you to enable recovery of certain file types, like contacts, messages, photos, videos and so on. If you have selected files types such as Gallery, Videos, Audios or Documents, then proceed to next steps, you should see the selection of scanning modes between ‘Standard’ and ‘Advanced’ even when you are on the free version. If you only enable file types, like contacts, messaging, this recovery modes selection screen will not show up.
        Can you please double check?

  253. Mihai

    Hi,

I have an Galaxy S4, I accidentally reset the phone with factory reset, I rooted the phone bu your application does not find anything … Do you have any ideea ?

    • Matt

      Hi,
First of all, make sure you have the latest version of this recovery software installed. As newer version may have some bugs fixed in earlier versions. At the time of writing, the latest version is 5.0.3.4. If you are on an old version, uninstall it from your PC and get the latest version from http://www.softwarert.com/dr-fone-android-download/
Factory reset is the standard method to clear data on the phone, it will delete almost all personal data on the phone. Also some rooting tools may also cause data overwriting on your phone. If you can’t find any files from your Samsung phone, make sure you have enabled the ‘Advanced mode’ before scanning your phone. This scan mode is more powerful to find more deleted files. If still no luck, i am afraid your deleted files should have been overwritten and you can’t get them back using this data recovery software.

  254. Brian

I see others are stuck at 90%. Before I even started the process, I selected only images/gallery and nothing else. I guess the question is when do I pull the plug on this and try other methods? Will this software eventually tell me no dice at this point?

    • Matt

The software may stop the process itself if it encountered errors. Since there are too many complicate situations the unhandled exceptions occur, the software is not smart enough to handle all of them. If it gets stuck somewhere for too long, you should manually stop the scanning, then disconnect/reconnect or try other methods.

  255. assd

is any thing possible to check my children’s massages without usb connection

    • Matt

As far as I know you can do that if his/her phone has been backed up to computer or synced to an email account, and you have access to the computer or email account where the text messages are saved.

  256. Hayley

Every time I try to scan for Gallery & Videos, I get a message that Dr Fone for android has stopped working?? Ive tried about 6 times? Please help 🙂

    • Matt

Can you scan other files, like contacts, messages, from your mobile phone?
What’s your phone model, Android version and the operating system of your PC please?

  257. krish.

    Hi..
I have deleted my whats app chat.
I have lost the back up files also from my sd card .
Can I get my all whats app chats back on my android phone.

    • Matt

The deleted WhatsApp chats and files can be recovered before they are overwritten by new data saved on the phone. So you should use the data recovery for Android phone as soon as possible.

You can download and install the Android recovery software here on to your PC, connect your Android phone to computer through USB data cord, then use this recovery program to scan your mobile phone for the lost Whatsapp chat. If the recovery software can find your WhatsApp chats and files, you can recover them. Otherwise, try to switch to Advanced scanning mode within the recovery software and scan your device again see if any update.

  258. Priya

    Hi Matt,

I have a samsung galaxy s5 but my laptop is a macbook air. The version for android is only compatible on Microsoft, so should I download the iOS for mac version? Will I get the same result?

    Thank you so much,
    Priya

    • Matt

      Hi Priya,
This Android recovery software has only Windows version at this time, so you have to install and run it on Microsoft PC other than a Mac computer. Android data recovery for Mac is avaible now!
The iOS data recovery software which has both Windows and Mac version, however it can only recover data from iOS devices, iPhone iPad iPod. You can’t use it to recover data from your Samsung galaxy phones.
      Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    • Matt

      Hi,
Just want to let you know, the Android phone recovery for Mac has been released.

  259. Amruta

    Yesterday i deleted few msgs from watsaap before backup time i.e. 4am;
Is it still possible to recover those msgs?

    • Matt

Yes. it is possible to get the latest WhatsApp chats or messages using this software.
Please stop using your phone immediately because new data saved on the phone might overwrite those deleted data on the phone and make them unrecoverable.
Then download this Android Data Recovery software on to your computer and use it to scan your phone for the lost WhatsApp messages.
Note that the sooner you use the recovery tool, the higher chance you can find back those lost data. You can find more tips from this guide, http://www.softwarert.com/recover-deleted-whatsapp-messages-android-mobile/

  260. Musthafa

    I installed the software .
    Its asking the registration code

    • Matt

You can use the Android recovery software to scan your phone for lost data. Any data found during the scan can be recovered. However in order to actually extract data from phone to computer, you need to register the software. You can order it within the software or purchase the license from this direct link, it is $49, one time fee, life-time license, free upgrade. After that the registration code will be sent to you through email in minutes.

    Hi,

I have a Lenovo A880. . I was able to turn on the USB debugging. However, when the system tries to locate or inititalize my device, it will only go to 60% then to previous, instruction of debugging usb. On the initializing progress it detected my device as Lenovo S820.. help, what to do?
    TQ.

    • Matt

LENOVO S820 is the model that has been tested to be compatible with this Android recovery software. We have not tested it on Lenovo A880 yet. But it should also work with this model. You can try to disconnect and reconnect your phone see if any help.

I have lost my Samsung galaxy phone in an accident. I managed to get the same number but in a different phone. Is there any way I could get whatsapp chat from the old phone using this software? Please reply ASAP.

    • Matt

This data recovery software can help you recover deleted, formatted data on your Android phones. If you never used Whatsapp on your new Samsung galaxy phone, the WhatsApp chats never saved on your phone, thus you can’t recover data using this software. In this case, you can try other alternatives to get back your lost data following this guide: recover deleted or lost WhatsApp chats on Android.

      Hi,
What kind of data do you want to recover from your oneplus one phone?
You can try to narrow down the scan to certain file types, such as contacts or sms, so the recovery software can scan your device faster? Sometimes when you have a lot of data saved on the phone and do not narrow down the data types, it will take much longer.
Also you can refer to this guide for more Android data recovery tips and tricks, http://www.softwarert.com/android-data-recovery-guide/
      Cheers,

Will this software retrieve all texts, pictures, and contacts from a kyocera event model C-5133 after a factory reset? Thanks for your time.

    • Matt

It should be able to if you can perform the recovery immediately after the phone reset. Feel free to download and try it.

Hi Matt, may I know is it a must to buy the full version in order for me to recover the data?

    • Matt

      Hi Jane,
It depends on how you like to use it. For example, if you want to retrieve the photos in HD, then you need to buy the full version to extract the deleted source photos. If you do not buy the full version, you still be able able to view the photos in thumbnails, you can capture the thumbnails and save to computer for Free. However if the software can help you get back your valuable data on the phone, I think it is worthwhile to buy the full version. Also by paying the small amount of money ($49, life-time license, free upgrade) you can support the developer of the tool, so they can keep the software in constant development.

On 26/12/2014 I deleted a whatsapp chat open from may 2014. I need to retrieve this. Is it possible using this software? The general feedback is that you can only restore messages up to 7 days old

    • Matt

Yes. it is possible. It is not a guarantee though, as your deleted data might be overwritten by new files saved on the phone. You need to use this software as soon as possible. The sooner the higher chance you can get them back.
It is not restricted to only 7 days. For more details about WhatsApp recovery and specific instructions, please refer to this guide: recover WhatsApp chats and attachments on Android phones.

    • Matt

You can download the Android data recovery software on to your windows computer (Note it is a desktop software, not an app for mobile phone), then use it to scan your Android phone. It can help you recover photos, videos, music, contacts, messages and so on. but currently it can’t help you recover apps. As to the apps, you can download them again manually.
If you have trouble using this recovery tool, you can take a look at this FAQ and troubleshooting page see if any help: http://www.softwarert.com/android-data-recovery-guide/

    Hi

Downloaded the free trial but got the message that the free version don’t support file recovery.

    • Matt

      Hi,
The free trial gives the first time users to try the software before they buy. When you scanned the Android phone and found the lost files, it means the files can be recovered. However you need to register the software with license code in order to actually recover the file from phone to computer. You can order the full version online, then an order confirmation email with license code will be sent to you in minutes. Use this code to register the free trial version to continue to data recovery from Android phones.

Is this software works when I use free trial?

    • Matt

You can use the trial version to scan phones for lost files, after that all found files will be displayed in the result page so you will see what files can be recovered, but to extract the files from phone to computer, you need to register the software.

Latest Update: Android data recovery for Mac is also available now.
Did you download the Android data recovery software to a mobile or Mac?
This is a desktop software for Windows PC, so make sure to download and use it on a Windows computer.

    Hi,

I have a samsung tablet. I was able to turn on the USB debugging. However, when the system tries to locate my device, it will only go to 90% then stop. What am I doing wrong?

    • Matt

If you have saved a lot of stuff on your tablet, it may take very long to analyse and scan your tablet, so be patient. or you can disconnect your tablet, plug in it again and try to use the recovery see if it can go through. If still no luck, you can go to this link http://www.softwarert.com/recover-deleted-photos-videos-samsung-galaxy-s5/ , scroll down to the bottom to find more troubleshooting tips.

Have you recovered text messages from Android phone to computer and want to view the text messages on your PC or Mac?

      • Beata

        Hey Matt

Will this restore photos and videos from my SIM card as well??

        • Matt

It seems you can’t save media files to SIM card. Do you mean media files saved on SD card? If so, this android phone recovery will also be able to help you with that. Anyway, you can download the free trial version on to your computer, and give it a shot see if any luck.
