Access Camera without unlocking iPhone

How many times have you missed out on taking the perfect photo because you have to unlock your phone via passcode, fingerprint or Face ID? iPhone users can actually access the Camera app on iPhone without unlocking the phone screen. In this article, we will use an iPhone 8 Plus in the demo to show you how to bypass unlocking iPhone and take pictures as fast as possible when you are in a hurry.

Step 1. Raise to Wake

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Raise to Wake. If it was disabled, turn this option on so you can raise your iPhone to wake it up automatically without pressing any button or your phone screen.

Step 2. Camera quick access shortcut on locked screen

Grab your phone, your phone screen will turn on automatically. You should find the camera icon at the screen bottom.

Simply swipe to the left from right side on the locked iPhone screen, the camera window opens automatically, you can just press the shutter button to quickly snap a picture.

Access Camera from Control Centre

On the locked iPhone screen, swipe up from the bottom to bring up the Control Centre and display all shortcuts. Tap Camera icon to quickly take a photo on iPhone.

If you swipe up from the bottom of the screen and can’t view Control Centre, go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > Allow Access When Locked, and turn on Control Centre from there.

If you can’t find camera icon in Control Center, go to Settings> Control Centre > Customise Controls, and add Camera to appear in Control Centre.
