Calibre is a free and open-source e-book management software that allows you to organize, convert, and read e-books in various formats on your computer or e-reader device. With Calibre, you can also sync your e-books to your devices and download news articles from the internet for reading later. It supports a wide range of e-book formats, including EPUB, MOBI, PDF, and many others. Additionally, Calibre comes with a built-in e-book reader, which allows you to read your e-books without needing a separate application.
Install Calibre on PC
Once you finished download the installer through your web browser, you will save it as .msi file onto your computer hard drive, usually the default Downloads folder on your PC. Double click the installer file to start the setup process.
You have to read and agree the terms in the license agreement before you can continue the setup process. Click to enable the ‘I accept the terms in the License Agreement‘ option. Then click Install to install the product with default options for all users. Or click Advanced to change installation options, notably the destination folder or location.
Click Advanced button, you will see the current default destination folder for calibre installation, which is usually under the Program Files on your system drive. If you like to save storage on the system drive or prefer to install new programs to other hard drive, click Change to choose another.
Next, we will have the chance to select product features. For example, Program Files is all the files you will need to run the Calibre book manager, you can choose to add shortcuts to the Windows Start menu or not, you can choose to create a shortcut on your desktop or not and so on. Select the way you want features to be installed.
Finally hit the Install button and wait for the program to be installed on your PC. You will see the Setup Wizard complete screen as shown below with the option to launch calibre instantly. Click the Finish button to exit the Setup Wizard.
