Combine video clips on iPhone

Sometimes you may want to merge two or more video clips that you have just shot on iPhone to make a short movie or extend the video for sharing, demonstration or other purposes. We know that iPhone has the built-in video trimming feature within the Photos app to allow us cut videos. You can’t however put short video clips together using the Photos app. Luckily there is another stock video editor, the iMovie, on iPhone and iPad which can help us combine videos and create short films. No third-party video editors or video mergers required.

How to combine video clips using iMovie on iPhone?

From your iPhone home screen, launch iMovie app. Go to create a new project and add the video clips into the new movie. Repeat the steps to add more video clips from your Camera Roll to iMovie on iPhone. You will then see a screenshot like this.

Then drag and drop the video clips in the timeline or storyboard at the lower section of iMovie to rearrange them or change the sequence. Play the movie in iMovie. Edit the video clips and make other changes to them if need. You can touch the transition icon between video clips to change a different transition effect, transition time.

When you finish editing, tap Done button at the top left corner. Tap Share at the bottom, then choose Save Video to save it to your Photo Library. Or choose other sharing options to save, send, share, upload the edited video.
