Combine voice recordings with Audition on Windows PC

Windows 10 has the Voice Recorder app which you can use to record any sound, narration, audio. It also provide us basic audio editing features. For example, you can trim, delete and rename existing voice recordings files in the Voice Recorder app. Merging two or more sound recordings is one of the common issues we may run into. Unfortunately the stock sound recordings program in Windows doesn’t support audio merging. In this quick guide, we will use Adobe Audition, a professional audio editing program that can help us join multiple sound recording files together in very little time.

Find sound recording files on Windows PC

Launch the Voice Recorder app for Windows. You’ll see a list of all existing voice recordings on the left panel. Right click on one of them, and choose Open file location from the pop-up menu to open the folder where all your voice recordings are saved in File Explorer. Play the sound recordings in the Recorder app to select the recording files you want to merge. Copy them to a new folder and arrange them in the right order.

Add voice recordings to Audition

Launch Adobe Audition on your PC. Drag and drop to add the first voice recording file from File Explorer to the workspace in Audition. Then click File > Open Append > To Current. Browse to the folder where your voice recording files are saved, choose and add the second sound recording to Audition. This will put the second voice recording file at the end of the first one. Repeat the steps if you want to merge more than two sound recordings in Windows 10. Audition will put each track at the end of the previous one.
