One of the biggest tech hits of 2015 is the UHDTV or 4K. We had seen many 4K TVs in the CES 2015. Many people believe 2015 is the year of 4K videos and UHDTVs. Right now we do not have much 4K content available on the market. But things are changing very fast. Online streaming video sites, such as YouTube and Vimeo, began to support 4K videos. Sony 4K Ultra HD Media Player is a great 4K video source. We can produce our own 5K video content as well. More and more consumer electronics and devices begin to support 4K video recording including all kinds of digital camera, Ultra HD camcorders, smartphones, tablets, such as Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Google Nexus 6, etc. It appears more devices can help you capture 4K resolution videos now. What’s more you can also convert existing HD videos into 4K videos using a 4K video converter as well. If you are interested, please refer to this guide to convert 4K Videos for LG UHD TVs. Today we will discuss how you can downgrade 4K videos to 1080P videos, 720P videos or smaller resolutions other than upscale or upgrade standard HD or Full HD videos to 4K videos. Because we also realized that many old devices, players are not compatible with 4K content. Just imagine you have recorded a 4K video using your camcorder, but found your computer is not powerful enough to play the 4K video smoothly, or when you saved some 4K video on computer but noticed it is to big to be uploaded to your smartphone or tablet, isn’t it annoying? If you have the trouble as well, you can refer to below steps to compress 4K UHD videos on your computer.
How to Compress or Downgrade 4K UHD videos?
If you have already recorded videos in 4k and want to scale it down to Full HD 1080p videos, you need a video converter which is capable of 4K video conversion. We have demonstrated how you can convert Bluray DVD movies, Full HD videos into 4K videos. In fact, this software can also help you do the opposite, compressing 4K videos to 1080P, 720P, any other resolutions or formats you need. For example, you can convert 4K videos to MP4, MOV, AVI, 3GP, WMV, FLV or any other video formats. While you are converting 4K videos to any formats, the 4K video could realistically be compressed down to a very small size. For example, if your 4K videos is more than 50G, by converting the 4K video to a standard HD or Full HD video, you can not only crop its dimensions from 3840 x 2160 or 4096 x 2160 to standard HDTV 720p resolution or Full HDTV 1080p resolution, the video size will be greatly reduced or shrinked to half or much less of its original size, say from 50G to 10G or less.
