In an earlier post, we used Windows Movie Maker to extract audio from videos. However Microsoft discontinued this Movie Maker in Windows 7, and it is definitely not present in Windows 10. If you need to convert videos to audios in Windows 10 computer, you have to download third-party video editors. UniConverter is a multimedia program which can help with that. Launch the converter and editor tool on Windows PC, you will see its main category at the left hand side with options such as Video Converter, Audio Converter, Downloader, Video Compress, Video Editor, Merger, Screen Recorder, DVD Burner and Toolbox. This is a multi-purpose media program as you can see from its main interface. Head to Video Converter, click the Add Files button at the upper left corner, browse to the folder where the source videos files are saved on your hard disk and import them to the converter program.
Select the audio file format you need from the Output Format box at the bottom; optionally choose another location to save the output files from the File Location box. Finally hit the Convert button or the Start All button if you added two or more video clips to the converter to convert the selected or all videos to audio files. Once the conversion completes, open the output folder to find all the audio tracks extracted from those video clips.
Trim video before splitting the audio
Sometimes you may only need part of the whole audio track, in this case, you can click the Trim button below the video thumbnail to select only the portion of the video you need before you convert it to audio.
Merge two or more audios into one
Also you can click Merge All Files option besides the Output Format option, then hit the Convert or Start All, by doing so, you can split audios from multiple video clips and combine all audio tracks into a long one.
We also found some free media tools can help us extract audios from video or movies, although not in a way as easy as the UniConverter. For example, you can also use Format Factory, VLC Media Player for ripping audio from video. Refer to following links for more details.
