Most content saved on iPhone can only be synced or exported via iTunes which however seems to be difficult to use especially for beginners. Android phones are easier to use speaking of data backup and transfer. One good example is the contacts import and export. On Android phones, such as those Samsung smartphones, you can easily export contacts from Samsung phone to computer using the contacts export facility built-in the Contacts app. This easy job seems to be much difficult with iPhone. Fortunately the iOS ecosystem comes with a lot of useful apps and tools we can use to keep our iPhone stuff well organized and running smoothly. Today, we introduce you a powerful mobile phone data management tool which can help you import or export data between iPhone and computers. Other than that, we will also show you how to export contacts from iCloud to computer.
Method 1. How to export contacts from iPhone to computer?
First of all, download the mobile phone data transfer tool on to your PC or Mac below.
The iPhone transfer comes as a tool in the iOS toolkit. Click Transfer from its home interface. Connect iPhone to computer via USB.
Switch to the Information tab where you can import, export text messages and contacts. See screenshot as below.
Click Contacts from the left category, all your contact groups saved on iPhone will be listed, including local contacts saved on iPhone, Exchange mail contacts, iCloud contacts, etc. Generally speaking you need only export or back up those local contacts saved on iPhone.
To back up contacts from iPhone, click the Export button from the upper tool bar, you will get a drop-down menu with supported output file formats. It allows users to export iPhone contacts as vCard file, CSV file or import iPhone contacts to Outlook, Windows Address Book. If you just want to export contacts from iPhone and save them on computer as a backup, you can export the contacts as vCard file which is compatible with almost all smart phones including iPhone, Android and others.
Note that if you use this mobile phone data management tool on a Mac, you will get different contacts export and import options optimized for Mac OS.
Method 2. Download contacts from iCloud to computer
Have you turned on iCloud bakcup on iPhone? If so you can sign in your iCloud account from the web and download a copy of your iPhone contacts from iCloud to computer.
Visit www.iCloud.com on your web browser, sign in using your Apple username and its password.
Then click the Contacts icon, you can then open and access all your iPhone contacts saved in iCloud server. On the bottom left corner, there will be a small gear icon, you can click to open the Settings menu. See below screenshot.
You can select any contacts in iCloud backup and click the Export vCard… link to download the selected contacts from iCloud to your computer. You can also hit the Select All at first to download all contacts from iCloud to PC or Mac. You iPhone contacts will be exported from iCloud and saved on your computer as VCF file. You can then import the contacts to other phones, like Android, Samsung, Nokia and more.
Import contacts from computer to iPhone
The above software can not only help you export contacts from iPhone to computer, but also import contacts from computer to iPhone. In fact, if your iPhone contacts have been saved as vCard VCF file on computer, you can directly import it to iPhone without any software. Simply email yourself the VCF contacts file from computer, download it on your iPhone, then import the contacts from email to the Contacts app on iPhone.
