How to export contacts from Windows Live Mail?

Have you saved a lot of mail contacts in Windows Live Mail client on PC and want to transfer them to other devices or email clients? You can export them from Windows Live Mail first. You will then be able to transfer these contacts files to other email account, email clients or devices. For example, you can upload them to your Gmail, Yahoo Mail account, transfer them to your iPhone, Samsung, HTC, LG or other smart phones, etc. See this tutorial to transfer all contacts from Windows Live Mail to iPhone, just as an example. How to export contacts from Windows Live Mail?

Run Windows Live Mail on your computer, its Mail tab opens by default. You can press CTRL+3 on the keyboard or click the Contacts from the bottom left corner to quickly switch from Mail to Contacts in Windows Live Mail. Then click the Export button in the ribbon to show the contacts export options. You can will be able to export contacts from Windows Live Mail as Comma separated values (.CSV) and Business card (.VCF) formats, see below screenshot.

The CSV export option in Windows Live Mail will output all contacts or selected contacts as a single CSV file; the VCF export option in Windows Live Mail will export selected contacts or all contacts as multiple VCF files.

How to export all contacts as a single VCF file from Windows Live Mail?

Currently you can’t export all contacts as a single VCF file from Windows Live Mail. If you need to merge all VCF files, you can actually export contacts from Windows Live Mail as a single CSV file first, then convert the CSV to VCF file format using Kies.

If you are using a Yahoo account, you can also upload the CSV contact file to Yahoo, then export them as a single VCF file. By doing so, you do not need to install the Kies or any other programs on the computer. See how to export contacts from Yahoo Mail account here.

The easiest way to combine VCF files is to launch the Command line in Windows, then execute a command line. It does not require any software installation, you do not need to upload the contacts files to an email account or online service. You can refer to this tutorial to combine multiple VCF files into one. This is the easiest method you can merge multiple or all vCard files on computer.
