Many people know how to find out their IP address on the desktop computers. We know that each computer connected to the internet has its own IP address, so do mobile devices, like smart phones and tablets. For example, you can refer to this guide to find out your IP address on iPad. In this guide, we will be using a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone to demonstrate how Samsung and Android users can find out their IP address on their Samsung mobile or other Android mobile phones, such as LG, HTC, Motorola, Nexus, Lenovo, Huawei and many more.
Find IP Address on Samsung Android mobile
Your mobile phone when connected to the internet actually has two IP addresses, one local IP address in your local network, the other is the public or external IP address around the web. To find out the internal IP address on Samsung phone, open Settings app on your Samsung mobile phone, connect your phone to Wi-Fi at first.
Once you connected your Samsung phone to a Wi-Fi network, you can see the Wi-Fi toggle turned green. Touch Wi-Fi, then the Wi-Fi networks screen opens as following.
The current active Wi-Fi network will be displayed at the top of all available Wi-Fi networks. Tap on the wi-fi network which your Samsung smart phone is connected to, you can then find the status and details of this wi-fi network. See screenshot below.

The above instructions should work on different Samsung mobile phone, note and tablet models, like Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, S5, S6, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung tab, etc. They may differ in appearance though.
Another way to check Samsung or Android phone IP address
In fact, there are different ways you can find out the IP address of your Samsung phone or other Android devices. For example, you can also go to Settings >> About device or About phone >> Status, you can find network status, IP address, Mac address and more information from there. This is just another way you can find out Samsung phone IP address.
How to Find your Public or External IP Address on Samsung mobile?
Web IP address lookup service is the easiest way to find out your external or public IP address. You can connect your Samsung mobile to wi-fi, then browse one of the following IP lookup websites, your IP address will be provided.
