DaVinci Resolve is one of the best video editors. It is feature riched and powerful. It has intuitive layout and UI, very user friendly to beginners. Go to download DaVinci Resolve from either Mac App Store or Blackmagic Design website. You can find the links from previous linked page in last paragraph. At the time of writing this post, the most recent versions are DaVinci Resolve 16 and DaVinci Resolve Studio 16. Make sure to download DaVinci Resolve 16 which is the free version, the DaVinci Resolve Studio 16 costs $299, one-time fee. Unlike cloud based software, DaVinci Resolve Studio does not require a connection to the internet and there are no monthly subscription fees.

The free version offers innovative tools for editing like the new cut page, visual effects, motion graphics, color correction and audio post production.
The Studio version includes everything in the free version plus DaVinci Neural Engine features, multi user collaboration, stereoscopic 3D tools, dozens of ResolveFX and FairlightFX plugins, HDR grading, film grain, blur and mist effects, and more.
Click the Download button, you will be prompted to register using your email account. After that the downloading will begin. The installer is very big, it is about 1.5G for DaVinci Resolve 16 for Mac. So get yourself a cup of coffee or take a short break while it is downloading.
You will get a zip file on your Mac. Double click on it to unarchive it and get a DMG file. Then double click the DMG file to open it. You will see the manual, the installer and the app to uninstall Resolve. Double click the Install Resolve icon to launch the installing wizard.
Click Continue button to get started. The installer will walk you through the easy steps. Firstly read the introduction about the video editor, then agree the license, select a different location when you have multiple disks. When you reach the Installation Type, you can customize the installation.
There are several components you can choose to install. Click Customize button, you can find extra components, such as Fairlight Audio Accelerator, Fairlight Studio Utility, PostgreSQL Server, etc. Once you have selected all the additional add-ons you want, hit the Install button. A new dialog appears. You need to type in your system username and password to allow the installer to install new software. Hit Install Software and wait for DaVinci Resolve to be installed.
