Merge photos with Paint 3D in Windows

There are many situations where you may want to join two or more pictures together. For example, you may want to create a photo collage with the before and after photos of a home renovation or weight loss journey and share it in your social networks. Windows users may use Microsoft Paint to combine multiple photos together. Other than that, you can also make use of the new redesigned version of Paint, which is simply called “Paint 3D”. This new version of Microsoft Paint in Windows includes a modern interface and additional tools to create and manipulate 3D objects.

Combine pictures with Paint 3D in Windows

To merge two photos into one file on Windows PC, do the following.

Find the Paint 3D from the Start menu or the search box in the taskbar in Windows. You can download and install it from Microsoft Store for free it not yet. Run Paint 3D, click New on its welcome screen to create a new image in Paint 3D.

Click Menu > Insert to find and insert the first image to Paint. Optionally drag and drop to reposition it on the canvas, drag its borders to resize it. Click Canvas from the top menu bar to drag the border of the Canvas to make room for the second picture to be inserted. When you like to put the second photo to the left or right of the first photo, drag the canvas to left or right.

Click Menu > Insert, find the second picture and insert it to the image editor. Drag and drop it above the first photo, or move it to the left, right, top, bottom or any desired position. Resize its border to resize it as you wish.

Finally click Menu > Save as > Image to choose a format, such as PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, and save it to a folder on your computer.

Paint 3D support transparent background. If you want to combine photos to create a photo collage with transparent background, make sure to enable the Transparent canvas option and choose an appropriate format for the output file, such as PNG before you export it to your computer.
