Mirror Android phone screen on PC via Total Control

At times you may want to mirror phone screen on computer monitor. For example, some movies can only be watched on mobile phone using certain apps, by mirroring your phone screen on PC so that the movie will be displayed on your desktop or laptop screen and you can watch on bigger screen. If you want to share content on mobile phone with other people, you can mirror your phone screen to PC, so you do not have to huddle around a tiny screen.

There are a handful of different ways to do that. For example, you can connect your Android phone to your Windows PC using a USB cable. Then enable USB debugging on your Android phone. Download and install a desktop software on your Windows PC which can receive screen casting and see your phone’s screen on your Windows PC. You can also download and install screen casting apps on both mobile phone and computer for wireless connection and screen sharing.

Screen mirroring vs Phone control

Screen mirroring and phone control are related concepts, but they serve different purposes. Screen mirroring allows you to display your mobile device’s screen on another device, such as a computer or a smart TV. While screen mirroring allows you to see your phone’s screen on another device, it does not necessarily provide direct control over your phone from the mirrored display. Phone control involves actively controlling your mobile device from another device, such as a computer.

Part 1. Android to computer wireless screen sharing

If you only need to cast screen from phone to computer in the same room or area, you can make use of the built-in wireless display feature in Windows 10 and Windows 11 for the wireless screen casting, no third-party apps required. Setting up “Projecting to this PC” on a Windows computer allows you to project the display of another device onto your PC.

Open Settings on your PC, navigate to System > Projecting to this PC, and then refer to this guide about casting screen from Android to PC to configure the projecting on your computer and turn your PC into a Miracast receiver, allowing it to receive and display content wirelessly from another device, such as a mobile phone or another PC.

Once you’ve set up Projecting to this PC, you can project from another Windows PC or an Android device. On the Android phone, swipe down from the top of your screen to access the Quick Settings and look for the Screen Mirroring or Casting option on your Android device.
