Want to cast screen from your iPhone or iPad to a big screen or projector? Screen Mirroring, which is built into iOS and can be accessed from its Control Center, allows users to easily mirror their iPhone or iPad to Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV. This feature was not designed for mirroring iOS screen to a computer. If you plan to cast screen from iPhone or iPad to PC or Mac, you need a third-party AirPlay or Screen mirroring receiver on your desktop or laptop to receive the screen cast.
Today, we will introduce you another advanced AirPlay receiver for Mac, AirServer. Download the free trial version of AirServer from this link and install it on your Mac.
AirServer for Mac allows you to receive AirPlay feeds, similar to an Apple TV, so you can stream content or mirror your display from your iOS devices or Macs (with built-in mirroring functionality). You can also receive Google Cast feeds similar to a Google Dongle. AirServer also comes with the Windows version which is more powerful. You can use to receive AirPlay, Google Cast and Miracast feeds from your iPhone, Android or Windows devices on Windows computer. Follow these steps to cast screen from iPhone iPad to Windows computer with AirServer.
In this demo, we will use an iPhone 8 with iOS 12 and a MacBook to show you how to mirror iPhone to Mac over Wi-Fi. Mirroring iPad to Mac involves a similar procedure.
Connect your iPhone or iPad and your computer, which is running AirServer, to the same Wi-Fi network.
Open the Control Center on iPhone by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
Please note that on iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and any iPad you access Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner.
In the Control Center, tap the Screen Mirroring icon. You should now see a list of AirPlay enabled receivers available on your network. You should see your computer in the list. Tap the name of the Mac running AirServer to mirror iPhone to Mac.
Anything on your iPhone screen, websites, emails, chat conversations, apps, movies, photos will be mirrored to the connected Mac now. AirServer can even pick up the audio or music playback from your iPhone or iPad. If like you can also make use of the built-in Recorder in AirServer to record your iPhone screen and audio input from iPhone.
