How to open, convert PDF in Keynote?

Can’t open PDF files in Keynote? Looking for a way to use PDF in your Keynote presentation? You can export PDF files from Keynote to Mac, not import PDF files into Keynote. If you need to open PDF file in Keynote or convert PDF to Keynote, you can convert the PDF files as PowerPoint presentation, then open the PowerPoint from Keynote and re-save it as a Keynote doc.

Convert PDF to Keynote, PowerPoint using Adobe Acrobat

If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat Pro (not the free reader) on your Mac, you can export the PDF as a PowerPoint presentation. Just follow these steps to convert PDF to PowerPoint using Adobe Acrobat.

Convert PDF to PowerPoint using FineReader on Mac

Click Show All at the top right corner to see the full list of all conversions. Choose Convert to PowerPoint Presentation.

Browse to the folder where the PDF source is saved on your Mac and import it to the converter. FineReader will then recognize the document and convert it to PowerPoint. After that the Save dialog pops up where you can choose a name for the PPT file and select a location to save it. Simply hit the Export button to export the PDF file as PPT on your Mac. 

Go to find the PPTX file in Finder and open the PowerPoint presentation with Keynote on your Mac. You can then choose Save from File menu and save the PowerPoint as native Keynote doc in .key format.
