I’m having the same problem as everyone else. Using the trial version on a Mac, scanning a Samsung Note 3, for files I moved to an microSD card which I then reformatted, in the mistaken belief I’d copied rather than moved them to the sd card. The software hangs at 99% and keeps restarting the phone. The sd card is in the phone. I was hoping I could find them on either.

    Dear Matt,
first thanks a lot for replying to so many messages!

I tried from 4 different computers to recover whatsapp files. At all computers it crashed at 36 %. Program either just closes or – at one PC – the error message pops up at 36 %: “application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process ID=0x182c (6188), Thread ID=0x1bb4 (7092)”

    Its a Samsung S 4 Mini Galaxy – GT-I9195I. Android: 4.4.4

    Thanks
    Martin

Hi Martin, thanks for the detailed explanation, and sorry for the inconveniences caused. this issue needs to be addressed by higher level tech support. please kindly send the log files to our technicians. while you wait for their response, you should minimize the use of your phone, avoid saving new files and data on the device, and you can search for other alternatives on the web at the same time, as I am not sure if a solution for this issue can be found anytime soon. again sorry for the inconvenience caused.

        Hi Matt
I had a galaxy note 3 that I gave to a friend. I did a factory reset. I thought that this would erase my pictures, contacts, text messages etc. Is there a possibility then that these things could be recovered using this program?

        • Matt

data recovery after factory reset is becoming more and more difficult, cause the newer Android OS are using more sophisticated techniques to protect users’ data. the above android data retrieval solution works well for recently deleted data that is being deleted by user accidentally, not those deleted by factory reset or using a professional data destroyer tool. if you perform a hard reset on Android, the above recovery solution can’t help you get back any data at all. so the short answer to your question is the chance is slim. also FYI in the future, you’d better perform a hard reset on Android to make the data even difficult to be retrieved. also other simple methods can also help you erase data on the phone completely. for example, you can reset it for another time; you can delete the private data, then save some unnecessary files to the phone, such as long movies, repeat the process several times, these activities can also overwrite those deleted private data and make them unrecoverable.
