Record computer screen in Windows 10 for Free
We will use this free screen recorder program on a Window 10 PC in this demo. It however works with all major Windows OS, like Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, etc.
Run Format Factory on your computer. Click to open the Video tab. Scroll to find and then click to open Screen Record in a new window.
Then follow these steps to record desktop screen.
Step 1. Select region or window to record
Click the Selection icon to expand the drop-down menu, then choose Region screen, Window, or Full screen. Bring anything you want to record to front on your computer screen. Select the window, app or any area on your desktop to record.
Step 2. Record webcam
If you want your viewers to see your face as well, click the Camera icon to open the webcam on your computer screen.
Step 3. Select audio to record
To record your voice, click to check ‘Use microphone’, to record internal audio from the Windows system, check ‘Use capture sound’. If you enable both internal and external sound recording by selecting both of them.
Step 4. Start, Pause and Stop recording
Click the big red Record button from the control bar to start recording. When finished, click the Stop button, the recorded video will be saved to the output folder of the screen recorder program. If need, you can hit the Pause button to pause the recording, then hit the Record button again to resume recording.
Click Output folder button to open the recorded screen video in file explorer. You can play the video using your favorite media player. If like, you can import it to Format Factory to edit it before you send or share it with others.
