Setup Personal Hotspot on iPhone to share mobile data

Are you looking for a way to access the Internet on your laptop or tablet without a Wi-Fi network on the go? Smartphones have a feature called Mobile Hotspot, Portable Hotspot or Personal Hotspot that can turn your phone into a wireless access point so other devices can shares the phone’s cellular data and connect to internet through your mobile phone. Here’s how to do it on iPhone.

Go to Settings > Mobile Data to turn it on. Then go to Settings > Personal Hotspot, touch the ON/OFF toggle to enable personal hotspot on iPhone. You will then be prompted to select how you like to connect other devices to the mobile hotspot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB.

You can choose to connect other devices, computers, Android phones, tablets or other iOS devices to the iPhone mobile hotspot via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB.

Connect other device to iPhone personal hotspot using Wi-Fi

This is the easiest way to share internet connection from iPhone with other mobile phone and computers. On the computer or other mobile device that you want to connect, go to turn on Wi-Fi and look for your iPhone in the network list. Then tap the Wi-Fi network to join. If asked, enter the password for your Personal Hotspot. The Wi-Fi Password is listed and can be changed from the Personal Hotspot settings screen on iPhone.

Pair iPhone with your computer; On iPhone, tap Pair or enter the code displayed on your computer; Connect to iPhone from computer. Note that if you choose to connect iPhone to computer from iPhone Settings > Bluetooth, you may disable the mobile data while connecting them via Bluetooth.

Personal Hotspot supports Bluetooth connections with Mac, PC, and other third-party devices. To connect another iOS device, use Wi-Fi.

Plug iPhone into your computer’s USB port preferably with the USB cable that came with your iPhone; Choose iPhone from the list of network services in your Settings.

Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or PC. If you see an alert on iPhone that says tap “Trust This Computer?” tap Trust.
