SHAREit is a very popular free wireless file transfer app on Microsoft Store, Apple App Store, Google Play. It lets you transfer files from different devices like mobile phones, tablets, and computers. From the user reviews we find some users have trouble connecting phone with PC or connecting two phones for data exchange. In fact, you can also make use of its WebShare feature on the other computer or mobile phone. It is very straightforward and trouble-free. Sometimes when the one you like to share files with does not have this app installed on his/her phone, you can also use the WebShare functionality as a workaround.
SHAREit PC client vs Web Share
With SHAREit app installed on the mobile phone, it is optional whether to install SHAREit client on PC or not. Since you can also access SHAREit Web Share from a desktop browser, could it be Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or else. Then use your web browser on the computer side as the portal to connect and send files.
This is SHAREit for Windows version 4.0 which was released in earlier 2017 and still the most recent version up until now Aug 2022.
SHAREit Web Share can be accessed through link pc.ushareit.com using any web browser on your computer. You will be presented with a QR code which you can scan to connect from mobile phone side.
Once connected, you will be taken to the file transfer portal in your desktop browser.

Once connected, you can drag files from PC to SHAREit Web Share to send them to mobile phone, or select files on the phone and send them to PC in SHAREit app.
Share files between phones using SHAREit Web Share
You can also have the SHAREit app installed on one phone, then use the mobile web browser on the other Android phone to access SHAREit Web Share and connect up. After that, you will be able to exchange files between the two mobile phones using SHAREit app or its web interface.
Send SHAREit app to other phones
For more easier and smooth file sharing experience, it is recommended to have this free app installed on both devices. You can download it from Google Play for free. Alternatively the SHAREit app can send itself to other Android phones without internet access.
Content below was created using a previous version of SHAREit in late 2016.
Share files on mobile phones using SHAREit WebShare – video demo
Here is how the Shareit WebShare works:
1. Sender: select files and share via web page
On the sender’s phone, run Shareit app, tap the avatar to show the side menu.
Select WebShare from above menu. If it is the first time you use this tool, you will get the instructions to use it. Confirm that to get started. The file share app will then take you to the file selection screen. Now you have the chance to pick up any files you like to share with other people, could they be photos, videos, PDF doc, music, apps, and so on.
Click the Send button after you complete the file selection, you will be taken to a screen with steps to access these selected files from another phone.
2. Receiver: connect to sender’s Hotspot, then open internet browser to visit the shared web page
The receiver doesn’t need to install Shareit app on the phone, he/she can use any web browser or internet browser on the phone to download files from sender’s phone. Before that however you need to go to Settings on your phone, go to Wi-Fi, then find and connect to the sender’s hotspot as provided on the sender’s WebShare screen. If you like to share files from mobile phone to a PC or Mac, you need to connect the computer to the sender’s hotspot.
3. Receiver: browse shared files in Browser app and download
Open a web browser on your PC or Mac, or the browser or internet app on Android, iPhone iPad, then type in the Shareit WebShare URL in the browser address and visit, you will then see the Shareit WebShare files download page on an Android phone.
You can also share files from phone to computer via WebShare. The Shareit WebShare download page can be access using a desktop browser. You can then browse, select and download files from phone to PC or Mac via Shareit WebShare. See below figure.
