You can use Google Maps app on your Android phone to quickly find out your location information, then share with your friends and family. This simple tip can help you find other people or help them find yourself using your mobile phone, such as Samsung, Lenovo, HTC, LG, Motorola, Huawei, Xiaomi, Sony or any smartphone has Google Maps installed. This is especially helpful when you are in unfamiliar places or asking for directions. In another guide, we showed you the steps to share your location through WeChat App on mobile phone. Location sharing through WeChat is really cool. You will not only be able to share your current location, but also invite your contacts to share their locations as well, so anyone joined the location share can see other’s location in real-time. However this method requires the install of WeChat on the phone and you have to sign up a WeChat account using your phone number. If anyone of you do not have the WeChat app or account, you should consider other ways that require no signups or app installations, such as the Google Maps. This app is pre-installed on most Android phones, also you can use it anonymousely so do not bother to sign up an account with Google.

How to Share your location with Google Maps on Android phone?
Step 1. Turn on Location Services on Android phone
The first step is to enable GPS or location services on your Android phone. Google Maps need to access your location information in order to provide you with its map services. You can refer to this guide to enable location services on Samsung and Android.
Step 2. Find location on the Maps
Start Google Maps app on your smart phone. You can locate yourself on the map through a search in Google Maps. Not only your personal location information can be shared in Google Maps, you can also find a location for a place, such as a restaurant, coffee bar, hotel, etc. Search for a place or find a place on the map then touch and hold to drop a pin.
Note: here you can actually capture the screen on your Android phone to save your location info as a picture, then send the picture to anyone you like to share your locaiton information with. See how to take screenshot on Samsung Galaxy phones here. Photos can be easily sent through Emails or chat apps like Skype, WhatsApp, WeChat, QQ and so on. See this guide to send photos between mobile phones through WhatsApp.
Step 3. Share a location on Google Maps
Swipe up on the place info card or touch the pin to bring up the location information card as shown in the screenshot below.
You can find icons such as Call, Save, Share and so on. Choose Share and select an app installed on your Android phone to share the location information with, such as messaing, Email, WhatsApp, Dropbox, Skype, etc.
It’ll send a link that shows the place in Google Maps. If the one received your location information in Google Maps does not have the Google Maps app installed on his/her phone, such as an iPhone user, the link to your location will be opened in the default web browser on the mobile phone instead.
