Take Screenshot on Samsung Galaxy phones

Screen capture on Samsung smartphones is very easy, although the exact method can vary slightly depending on the specific model and the version of the Android operating system it’s running. You do not need to download or install any third party app in order to take screenshot on Samsung Galaxy mobile phone. In this article, we will show you different ways to take screenshots on Samsung Galaxy phones. If one method doesn’t work on your device, try one of the other methods.

Method 1. Take screenshot on Samsung Galaxy mobile using the side keys

The easiest way to capture screen on Samsung Galaxy smart phones is to use the volume down and power key combination. This is the most frequently used method to take screenshots on mobile phones. It works with many other Android smartphones as well, like Huawei, Xiaomi, LG, etc.

To use this hardware buttons method, you need press and hold the two buttons (Power + volume down) on the side of your Samsung phone simultaneously until you hear the camera shutter sound or your phone screen flashes which means your screenshot is captured. Method 2. Take Screenshot via palm swipe on Samsung Galaxy mobile

Normally we believe the first method is the easiest way to take screenshots on Samsung Galaxy phones. However if you get used to this method(swipe the edge of your hand across the screen to take a screenshot), it can be easier for you as well.

Before we can take screenshots with a palm swipe on Samsung smartphone, go to double check your settings to ensure the palm motion has be activated:

  1. Open Settings;
  2. Scroll down to find and select Advanced features;
  3. Scroll down and tap Motion and gestures;
  4. Scroll down until you find the Palm swipe to capture option. Slide to right to turn it on.

After that, you can place the side of your hand on the screen and sweep it across the screen in either direction, from the right to the left or left to right. This simple palm swipe will take a screenshot on Samsung Galaxy mobile phone.

Method 3. Capture screen using the edge panel of Samsung smartphone

Open the Settings app on your Samsung phone. Go to Display, scroll down and tap the toggle to enable Edge panels on your Samsung device. Tap Panels > Tasks, then tap home button.

Swipe left to bring the edge panel on your phone screen, tap Take screenshots icon to capture your screen.

Method 4. Take long screenshot via Scrolling Screenshot on Samsung mobile

Scroll Capture is a Galaxy Phone feature that allows you to take screen captures of content such as long articles or websites and save them as a single image.

Open your app tray and tap to open the Settings. Scroll down to Advanced features. Tap Screenshots and screen recorder, or Screenshots, depending on your phone model the UI and features may differ slightly. On the Show toolbar after capturing or Screenshot toolbar option tap the toggle button to switch between On and Off. Some phone models allow users to choose screenshot format as well. Once enabled, a toolbar with buttons to add to it, edit it, share it and more will appear after you take a screenshot.

Open the website or page you like to capture on your Samsung mobile, then press the power button and volume down button to take a screenshot, the toolbar shows at the bottom of your phone screen, tap the Scroll Capture icon so the screen can automatically scroll down to capture the rest contents of your phone screen.
