File sharing, such as photos, videos, music and documents, between mobile phones and computer is very common nowadays. Most people own both smartphones and PC or Mac computer. If you are using a Samsung or Android phone and a Windows PC which is running on Windows 10 OS, this guide is right for you. We will discuss how to connect Samsung mobile and Windows 10 computer through Bluetooth and transfer photos, videos, music files between Samsung phones and Windows 10 via Bluetooth.
How to connect Samsung Android phone to Windows 10 computer through Bluetooth?
To connect Samsung to PC via Bluetooth, you need to turn on Bluetooth on both Samsung phone and Windows computer, then pair the devices.
Step 1. Turn on Bluetooth on Windows 10 computer
Click the Start menu in Windows 10, then choose Settings >> Devices. This is the section you can manage hardware devices such as Bluetooth device, printers, mouse and so on.
Once you are at the Devices settings on Windows 10 computer, click Bluetooth to reveal the detailed Bluetooth settings. Here you can turn on Bluetooth in Windows 10 or disable Bluetooth, manage Bluetooth devices, search for Bluetooth devices, pair and unpair Bluetooth devices, change Bluetooth settings in Windows 10.
Click More Bluetooth options link as shown above to to change Bluetooth settings on your PC.
The Options tab opens automatically. Here you can find several useful options that you need to enable. We suggest you to enable all of the three options above. The Discovery will allow Bluetooth devices to find your PC, your computer name will be displayed on your mobile phone or other devices so you can quickly send files from other devices to your PC. Notification will alert you when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect to the Windows 10 PC. You should also enable to show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area on Windows 10 PC, so you can send and receive files easier.
Step 2. Enable Bluetooth on Samsung Android mobile
In this demo, we will be using a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime phone. If you are using other Samsung Android phones such as Samsung galaxy S4, S5, S6, the process should be very similar, although you may see some difference in appearance. Go to Settings >> Wireless and Networks >> Bluetooth on your Samsung mobile phone.
Tap on Bluetooth to enter the screen on Samsung cellphone where you can enable Bluetooth on Samsung phone and manage Bluetooth devices, see below screenshot. Here you can see Paired Devices that you have paired your Samsung phone with before. You can also press the Scan button at the bottom to let your Samsung mobile scan for any available Bluetooth-enabled devices. Detected Bluetooth device will be listed under the Available Devices section.
Step 3. How to Pair Samsung Android mobile to PC via Bluetooth
To connect Samsung mobile with a Windows computer via Bluetooth, you can either pair your PC with Samsung phone from the computer side or pair Samsung mobile with Windows PC from the mobile phone end. They do the same thing in reversed ways.
Touch your device in the Available devices list. If requested, verify the passkey matches on both devices and touch Accept. If you initiate the Bluetooth pairing request on mobile phone, you will get a passkey on the phone, see above screenshot. Meanwhile you will get a similar pairing request prompt with the same passkey or code on the computer end. Go to confirm the Bluetooth pairing on computer, the confirm it on your Samsung phone, your Samsung mobile will be paired with the Windows 10 computer. When you have successfully paired with the device, it will be shown under Paired devices.
How to send files Samsung Android phone to PC through Bluetooth or from PC to Samsung?
Now you have connected Samsung mobile with your Windows 10 PC. You can transfer files, such as photos, videos, music from Samsung phone to PC or from computer to Samsung without any software or apps.
How to transfer photos videos Samsung Android phone to Windows 10 PC through Bluetooth?
You can share many files from Samsung phone to PC over Bluetooth. For example to transfer photos and videos from Samsung to computer, open the Gallery app on your mobile phone, open the photo or video you like to send, then tap on the photo or video to show the share options. You can tap on the Share icon then choose Share via Bluetooth, if you see the Bluetooth icon, you can directly tap on the Bluetooth share icon. See below screenshot on a Samsung Galaxy Prevail mobile phone.
After that you will see a list of all paired Bluetooth devices like below. Choose an active paired Bluetooth device, like another mobile or computer, then the selected files will be copied from your Samsung phone to computer or other phones over Bluetooth.
On your Windows 10 PC, you will be prompted to select a download folder to receive the sent photo or video from Samsung mobile. By default the files sent from mobile phone to Windows 10 via Bluetooth will be saved to C:\Users\username\Documents on your Windows computer.
How to send files from Windows 10 to Samsung Android phone via Bluetooth?
If you like to send files from windows computer to mobile phone. Click the upward arrow icon at the task bar on Windows 10, then click on Bluetooth icon from the pop-up dialogue, you will then find many Bluetooth options, such as add a Bluetooth device, show Bluetooth devices, send a file, receive a file, open settings, etc. Choose Send a File, you will get a pop-up window where you can choose a file on your Windows 10 computer, then choose a Bluetooth device to send the file to. Just follow the on-screen tips to send files, including photos, videos, music files, documents, from Windows 10 to paired Samsung, iPhone, or more Android phones.
