Sometimes you may want to cut or split a video on mobile phone to get rid of the unwanted part of a long video. This can include unwanted introductions, endings, or sections with errors or unneeded content. Sometimes, videos are too long for specific purposes. If you are using a Xiaomi or Redmi phone, you can trim videos using the Gallery app on the phone. In this article, we will talk about how you can trim and merge Xiaomi or Redmi phone videos.
How to trim videos on Xiaomi Redmi phones?
Run the Gallery app on your mobile phone. Find the video you like to trim, tap on its thumbnail to enlarge it to full screen. Touch anywhere on the video except the play icon above it, you will then see the video options at the screen bottom.
You can find options like Send, Edit, Delete and More. Choose Edit, then the video editing screen opens on your Xiaomi or Redmi mobile. By default the Trim mode is activated when you start the video editing on Xiaomi phone. This may change if you are on a different MIUI version.
To trim videos on Xiaomi or Redmi mobile phone, drag and drop the start and/or end marker to select the starting and ending frame of the video, then play the selected video part and optionally adjust your video selection, finally touch the Done button, the Gallery app will start encoding the video fragment as a new video clip and save it in your Gallery app.
How to merge videos on Xiaomi Redmi phones?
Merging or combining videos on mobile phones is a common practice. When you have recorded several video clips that are part of a single story or event, you may want to merge them into one. Combining multiple short clips into one video also makes it easier to share with others. Currently the stock Gallery app on Xiaomi and Redmi mobile phones does not come with the ability or tool to help join or merge two or more video clips. Xiaomi may add this feature in future upgrade. For now, you will need to either download a third party video editor app or use a video editor software on your computer.
