When you restore iPhone from backups in iTunes, you may get a prompt message saying “Find My iPhone must be turned off before your iPhone can be restored.” In this article, we will take about what is Find My iPhone, how to turn on or off it on our iPhone.
How to Turn Off Find My iPhone?
Run the Settings app on your iPhone, then select iCloud.
Tap on iCloud as shown from above screenshot on iPhone, you will be taken to a new screen like below.
You can find the ‘Find My iPhone‘ option in the iCloud settings screen. Here you can slide to the left to turn off Find My iPhone, or slide to the right to turn on Find My iPhone. You will be required to input your Apple ID password when you try to disable Find My iPhone.
Note: iCloud is the free storage and backup service by Apple. You can upload a copy of your iPhone data to Apple cloud server and restore your iPhone from the backups. Normally you have to go through the iOS Setup Assistant by erasing all the content on the device before you can restore iPhone from iCloud.
