Taking black and white photos on Xiaomi or Redmi mobile phone is very easy. You can simply change the settings of the stock Camera app on the phone to apply the black and white filter effect, then take a photo on the phone, it will be saved as black and white picture in the Gallery app on Xiaomi or Redmi phone.
Take black & white pictures on Xiaomi & Redmi
Launch the Camera app which was pre-installed in the MIUI, tap the filter effects icon at the bottom left section of the photo shooting screen to show all built-in camera filter effects on Xiaomi or Redmi mobile. Slide to the left or right to view more camera filters. Find and tap B&W to apply, you can then view the picture in black and white before the picture is taken. You can optionally swipe up or down in the photo preview window to make it lighter or darker. When you are satisfied with the result, tap the capture icon in round shape at the bottom to take the picture and save it to the Gallery app on Xiaomi & Redmi phone.
Convert color pictures & videos to black and white on Xiaomi phone
You can’t directly record black and white videos on Xiaomi or Redmi phone using the current version of the stock Camera app. You can however capture the video first, then edit it directly in the Gallery app and apply B&W filter.
For existing photos, you can also edit them and convert them to black and white with the stock Gallery app on Xiaomi or Redmi phone.
