There are mainly two ways you can scan QR code on a smartphone. iPhone and most Android phones allow users to directly scan QR code using the native Camera app on the phone. For instance, you can follow these steps to scan QR code on Xiaomi & Redmi phones. Most of these phones however can’t help you extract QR code from an image file saved on the phone. Huawei mobile phone is exceptional. Unlike most other smartphones, it can’t help you scan QR codes directly using the Camera app. Instead it captures the QR codes as image files on the phone, then scan QR code from the images. In this way, it can help us scan QR codes from both camera and image files on the phone.
