New Kindle users may not know how to send books from computer to Kindle. There are a few ways to send books from your computer to your Kindle device. You can copy e-books from your PC or Mac through emails, USB cable, the Send to Kindle app or the web app.

Method 1. Send books to Kindle via USB

In a previous guidance, we mentioned how you can import files and documents from computer to Kindle via USB. This is the best way to transfer books and other personal files to Kindle when the Kindle and/or your computer can’t get a data connection during a tip or when you need to quickly share many books or files across different devices of your own. It is fast and easy. What you have to do is connecting your Kindle via USB cable, the Kindle goes into USB drive mode and its battery is recharged by the computer, it appears as a removable mass-storage device on your PC or Mac, simply drag and drop, or copy and paste the books or other compatible files from your computer’s hard drive to the Kindle.

Method 2. Send books to Kindle via Email

You can send the book to your Kindle via email. To do this, go to your Amazon account settings and find your Kindle email address. Then, simply attach the book to an email and send it to your Kindle email address.

Step 1. Find the email address for your Kindle device

  1. Turn on your Kindle device and go to the home screen.
  2. Access the Settings.
  3. Tap Your Account.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom. Look for Send-to-Kindle Email, and the email will be located under that.

Your Kindle email address should be in the format of “yourname@kindle.com”. This is the email address you will use to send documents, books, or other files to your Kindle device via email.

Step 2. Authorize your email account

To send books to your Kindle via email, you can use any email account that you have access to, including Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, or any other email service.

However, to use this method, you must first set up an approved email address in your Amazon account settings. This is the email address that you will use to send books to your Kindle.

To add an approved email address, go to the “Manage Your Content and Devices” page on your Amazon account.

amazon account & list > manage your content and devices
