Download and install ScreenToGif, the best free GIF recorder, on your Windows PC. Run the GIF maker, you will see its home screen like this.
Choose Editor from the home screen to access the integrated GIF Editor.
Under the File tab, click Load button from the top toolbar, browse to the folder where the source GIF file is saved on your PC, and import it to the editor.
Browse through the frame view at the bottom to select the frame or image where you like to insert the new image or frame. Generally speaking, you may want to add the image or frame to the first beginning or the very end of the GIF file.
Insert Title Frame to GIF
Click on the first or last frame to highlight it in the thumbnails preview, then switch from File to Image tab from the top menu bar of the GIF Editor. Click Title Frame from the toolbar to open it on the right sidebar.
Here you have the options to input text, choose font family, style, weight, size, color, background color, frame delay, text layout, margin, etc. Any change you made can be previewed instantly. Once are you satisfied with the new frame or image, click Apply button at the bottom of the right sidebar to insert it.
Finally switch back to the File tab, click Save as and customize the output settings before you export and save it as a new GIF file on your computer.
Insert an image to GIF
You can also insert an image, photo, picture or screenshot to an existing GIF file using this free GIF editor on computer. Follow instructions above to import the GIF file to the editor first. Then go to the File tab > Media, browse to the folder where the image you like to add is saved and import it to the editor. The Insert Frames window will open with options to reposition and resize the image and the canvas. After that, click OK button to insert the new image, according to your selection, before or after the selected frame.
Play the GIF file, make other changes to suit your needs before you export it as a new GIF on your computer.
Moving frames in GIF file
The title frame will be inserted before the selected frame. If you have selected the very first frame in the GIF file, the new frame will be inserted before it as the new first frame. If you select the last frame and insert the title frame, it will be inserted as the penultimate frame. To move it to the last, switch to the Edit tab from the top, then click to select the title frame in the thumbnail preview at the bottom, hit the Move Right button from the top toolbar.
Change frame duration in GIF file
If you like to increase or decrease the delay or duration of a certain image or frame in the GIF file, go to the Edit tab, choose Increase or Decrease button to change the duration of a GIF frame, Alternatively you can also choose Scale from the toolbar to scale the duration of each selected frame by the percent value.
