How to combine GIFs on computer?

So you’ve made two GIFs and now you want to combine them into one? ScreenToGif is known as the best GIF recorder for Windows. In this article, we will show you how to combine GIFs using this free GIF editor in detail.

Prepare GIF files

Before we dive into the details of combining GIFs, go to get the source GIF files organized. Create a new folder on your computer for this project, then copy all source GIFs into this folder and rename them to arrange them in the right sequence, such as 1, 2, 3… or a, b, c….

Run the GIF recorder on your PC, click Editor from its home screen.

Once the GIF editor opens, you will see its File tab with an empty window waiting for source files to be loaded into the program.

Hit the Load button from the top toolbar, browse to the location where the GIF files are saved and import them into the editor. The GIF editor will put them together one after another according to the sequence we have set above.

Optionally click Playback > Play to play the GIFs before we combine and export them as a new GIF file. If you are satisfied with the new GIF file, switch back to the File tab, click Save as button from the top toolbar. A sidebar appears with the output options on the right hand side. Choose Gif as the file type, then Default (.gif) which is the default preset for the encoder. You can also opt to other presets according to your needs, such as High quality, High quality – Graphics, High quality – Transparent background and so on. Once a preset is applied, all the corresponding settings will be displayed below. Different export presets may hold different settings. You can manage and tweak these settings via the buttons below, they include but not limited to encoder, quantizer, sampling, colors, loop/repeat count, transparency, chroma key, etc. Choose a file name and location. Finally hit the Save button at the bottom of the sidebar to combine all GIFs and export them as a new GIF file on your computer.

Join GIFs with different frame size

If you want to combine two or more GIFs with different frame size, click the Load button under the File tab to insert the first GIF, then click Media button to add extra GIFs. The GIF editor will detect the file size and the Insert Frames window pops up when you are trying to add GIFs with different width/height or resolution. This window allows you to reposition and resize the image and the canvas so you will be able to combine GIFs with different image size into the same file.

Add transitions between GIFs

You can also click Transitions, then choose Fade or Slide and customize the transition parameters to get the result you like.
