There are different ways you can copy your existing WeChat data from phone to another phone. WeChat app itself has the built-in Chat Log Migration tool to help you move chat history from one phone to another. You can also use a third party mobile phone transfer software to copy WeChat data over to new phones. In this guide, we will introduce two methods you can transfer WeChat messages or chat history to new phones. Transfer WeChat chat history to new phone using Chat Log Migration
This is the official way you can migrate WeChat data between two mobile phones. Run WeChat on the first phone, go to Me >> Settings >> Chat >> Chat Log Migration if you are using WeChat for Android, you will get a screen like below.
Note: the WeChat design may differ depending on your mobile OS. We are using WeChat for Android in this demo.
Touch the “Migrate to another phone” button from above screen, you will then open the “Select Chat History” screen where you can choose any or all WeChat chats or conversations on the phone. Tap on Done when you finished the selection.
You will see the QR code displays on your phone. Now run WeChat on the second phone or your new phone. Log in to the same WeChat account on the other phone and scan the QR code to start the chat log migration between the two phones. Do not interrupt the WeChat migration both phones, stay on the WeChat chats migration screen, keep WeChat running and ensure that you have a good Wi-Fi connection, do not use your phones for other things for now. Wait until all WeChat chat history copied from the old to the new phone.

i got an back up of wechat chat history on 30 November 2016, and stored it to my computer… due to had problem with android i did not restored in all these days, now i am trying to restore the chat its giving me an error “no back up found” the files i got stored as back up are in (.dat) extension and with new version of windows Wechat back up is stored in (.db) extension and that the reason i am not able to restore i suppose….please help me to restore the chats

make sure both phones are connected to the same wi-fi. you can try to disconnect both phones from Wi-Fi connection, then connect them to the Same wi-fi network again see if any help.

can you find the emoji and images on the old phone? if so, you can try to export them from the old phone to a PC, then copy them from PC to the new phone via USB.
I tried to migrate Wechat history from an android mobile to an iPhone. When it came to scanning QR code, it prompted me that the two devices were not on same wifi network. I withdrew from both devices and tuned to same wifi network, and tried to start all over again. However, I was unable to log again into my android mobile (note: I am using email as log in ID). I then logged out from my iPhone, in the hope that I could log in again in my android mobile but in vain. How should I proceed further? Kindly advise please.
you can log on the same WeChat account on two mobile phone during the Wechat chat history migration process. You do not need to log out from one device before you log on it on another phone.
after linking an email address to your WeChat account, you also need to set a password for your wechat account, so you can log on wechat account using Email+WeChat password. you can’t sign in without the wechat password.
do you get any other options when failed to sign in wechat on the phone, such as reset password or else?
